regarding DH, car and insurance?

DH backed the car into a tree on the weekend so instead of spending my free morning (DD at nursery til lunchtime) watching Jeremy Kyle , swigging Vimto and rubbing my pregnant tum doing the washing and scrubbing the kitchen floor, I have taken the car to the garage and spent the last hour on the phone to the insurance. I'm really annoyed that I've had no downtime at all. AIBU to want to not allow DH to drive the car any more? He's always looking over the wrong shoulder when reversing anyway.

Just because you think he's looking over the wrong shoulder doesn't mean he isn't fully aware of what is behind him. Has he reversed the car into anything before or is this a first offence? If it's a first offence then YABU. If he does it regularly then you might need a chat with him about his driving - good luck with that

why are you doing it? If you have the power to 'forbid' him to use the car, you have the power to make him deal with the garage and insurance.

can you really stop 'allowing' him to use the car? Trying to imagine if I said that to Himself. He wouldn't use the car any more because he'd have died laughing

Let him sort out the insurance claim.

Am also arfing at not "allowing" your dh to drive any more. How would you feel if he didn't allow you?

If he didn't allow me to drive the car, we'd go nowhere because I always drive!! He actually hates driving and pretty much shouts "shotgun" whenever we go out.

He did call the insurance company but they said they had to talk to the policy holder, ie, me. I feel like buying him a bike and a helmet.
