Is SHE being unreasonable?

She's an attention-holic! She lies with her head on my lap, purring and wanting me to stroke her. Fine for 5 minutes or so, but she never gets off. It's just all about HER all of the time. She sometimes shoves her cold wet nose in my face, which is a problem if she's smelling fishy, which she often does after eating. Haven't cats got more important things to do than sit on people for hours at a time?

I saw a cat eating sick in the street this morning. And people wonder why I don't want one.

glasscompletelybroken · 20/09/2010 10:11

Our cat is having a right sulk at the moment becuase we've got a new carpet! She walks on it - when she absolutely has to - like she's walking on hot coals. Mostly she just sits in the hall looking in with a very pained look on her face!

bramblebooks · 20/09/2010 10:12

Our cat appeared outside the bedroom window this morning at stupid o'clock with a dead mouse in her jaws, meowing loudly for attention.

Cats are selfish bastards. And devious. My cats are a pain in the ass.

Egomaniac little fuckers.

readywithwellies · 20/09/2010 10:19

Don't get me started on cats. Urban vermin.

kreecherlivesupstairs · 20/09/2010 10:30

I am with the cat dislikers. Were it not for our cat-o-cutor we'd be ankle deep in shit.

Anenome · 20/09/2010 10:32

lol at UnquietDad, I love cats and all their weirdness...but just now and then they do something like that to remind me they're just animals.

TiggyD · 20/09/2010 10:42

I'm only cat-sitting at the moment. Wouldn't want one full-time. I'm now covered in hairs. I wonder what a shaved cat looks like?

Ah, the world is divided into cat and dog people.

The look cats give you is, 'what have you done for me lately?' Grin

I love my cat he's such a clevercunning bugger he's got a cat-flap but will cry at the front door to be let in and heaven help you if you get off the computer chair as he's sitting thee in a flash. We lost his brother in April and he looks so unhappy now and doesn't play like he used to.

harassedinherpants · 20/09/2010 14:15

StewieGriffinsMom my 4yr old doll mad dd would adore your cat!! Ours merely tolerates her cuddles.

My cat is an attention seeking little diva!! Over the past year we have spent a fortune on different brands of cat food only for her to turn her nose up and 95% of them and tolerate the rest. Dh bought her tins of Kitekat and she adores it.....should have guessed really, her name is Kitty!

My crazy clingy kitty will only drink water from a proper glass in a specific location in our bedroom. She spends the night sitting on the floor next to our bed watching us.

She is currently giving her bahookie a thorough wash next to me, one leg stretched elegantly across the laptop screen.

catherinewho · 20/09/2010 17:20

Mine is sulking on the floor under my feet because she was kneading me legs and standing on the keyboard, so I shoved her off. Took me 5 goes mind and she mauled my fingers while I did it.

But I still love her.

I always thought of myself as a dog person, but as I am out working and a single parent with little time etc... I don´t hve the time to dedicate to one. A few months ago found an abandoned tortie kitten in the middle of the country lanes a couple of miles out of my town. After trying to find her owners through the vets, no one came forward claiming her, so we adopted her. She is my Baby. I wouldn´t know what to do without her. She is a madam, she is egocentric, but we adore the way she sneaks onto my bed (under the covers!!!) between me and DS in the night, she is always purring and seems very happy. It just makes me smile to look at her. Best of all, she has calmed down some of the worst broodiness that I had been suffering for several months!

Tomatefarcie · 20/09/2010 17:54

I first thought you were talking about your MIL.

The Cat's Diary

Day 983 of my captivity.

My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects. They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while the other inmates and I are fed hash or some sort of dry nuggets. Although I make my contempt for the rations perfectly clear, I nevertheless must eat something in order to keep up my strength.

The only thing that keeps me going is my dream of escape. In an attempt to disgust them, I once again vomit on the carpet. Today I decapitated a mouse and dropped its headless body at their feet. I had hoped this would strike fear into their hearts, since it clearly demonstrates my capabilities. However, they merely made condescending comments about what a "good little hunter" I am.

There was some sort of assembly of their accomplices tonight. I was placed in solitary confinement for the duration of the event. However, I could hear the noises and smell the food. I overheard that my confinement was due to the power of "allergies." I must learn what this means, and how to use it to my advantage.

Today I was almost successful in an attempt to assassinate one of my tormentors by weaving around his feet as he was walking. I must try this again tomorrow, but at the top of the stairs.

I am convinced that the other prisoners here are flunkies and snitches. The dog receives special privileges. He is regularly released, and seems to be more than willing to return. He is obviously stupid. The bird must be an informant. I observe him communicate with the guards regularly. I am certain that he reports my every move. My captors have arranged protective custody for him in an elevated cell, so he is safe. For now...
