To ask mil to put off visiting?

Mil is meant to be visiting us for a week. She is coming on Tuesday. She lives in Cardiff and we see her about four times a year. I have a good relationship with her although she can be a bit 'testy' iyswim.

Thing is ds 6 mos is teething really badly (1st one through this morning yay!) and he is ROTTEN. Literally hasn't stopped crying, grizzling, wanting to be held and cuddled and bf non stop.

Firslty, I don't want to ruin mil's week with a screaming baby and secondly, she is of the old school "shut him in the bedroom dear and let him cry it out".

Would i bu to put her off or should I just suck it up?

Agree that you should let her know he is unwell and suggest that visiting another time might be a better idea. If she has already booked time off work/made arrangements then let her come but look after your baby in the way you think is right. Ignore 'suggestions' that you disagree with.

hope your baby is better soon

Thanks. Although I have just read that teething can take 20 months! Don't think she'll wait that long to visit! Grin
