To not much like Alfie Kohn?

Not so much an AIBU, but looking for opinions and here seems suitably busy.

I don't have anything against others following his methods. I just didn't like it myself.

Every other parent I've spoken to who has read it doesn't follow him says they'd like to but it seems unrealistic, or they'd like to but don't have the patience. But I just don't like it and don't want to.

Has anyone else felt similarly?

I had to google him. I much prefer the make it up as you go along technique of parenting, followed by the, 'MN when it all goes tits up' regime
