Ours in on a timer and a thermostat so it comes on if it is cold. Enjoy the heat while it lasts. When is he due home?

It's not cold in Manchester - I've only just shut the windows.
and I'm not even a native, but a soft southerner by birth.

nameymcnamechange · 18/09/2010 20:31

How old are your dc? I've got a beautiful "as new" tigger one for a toddler.

expatinscotland · 18/09/2010 20:31

Western Scottish Highlands.

Heat still not on.

Can't afford it till DH gets paid on the 28th.

Crap, old electric storage heaters in rented flat.

Cost £55/week in winter for a bare minimum of heat (and everything is electric in this flat).

TotorosOcarina · 18/09/2010 20:32

arghh it is!!! its fweeezing!

namey i have a nearly 2 yr old, a 4 yr old and a nearly 6 yr old :)

In my head I think that we shouldn't have it on until October half term. Hmm

That is because when we were little we were always skint and the house was always cold.

I have just started to put the heat on an hour or so morning and evening, because it is chilly in the house. (15 deg in our bedroom last night)

We are in the Midlands.

If we couldn't afford it then we would turn it off until later in the year. I am thankful that at the moment we can afford it, as the house is a bit damp when the weather is like this.

Mowiol · 18/09/2010 21:40

You think 15 degrees is chilly onepieceoflollipop ??

We wouldn't consider that anywhere near chilly up here in my part of Scotland!!

Ha! Softies!

borderslass · 18/09/2010 21:42

Put a jumper on its not cold yet, what will you be like if we have a winter like last year now that's cold.

nikkershaw · 18/09/2010 21:44

missmoopy · 18/09/2010 22:35

Heating on for an hour in mornings here....so chilly. And two hours before dd's bed. Our house is freezing, even cold in summer.

2shoes · 18/09/2010 22:37

blimey, I would never put the heating on in september
where do you go after that

TheCrunchyside · 18/09/2010 22:41

yanbu but i refuse to put on heating in september as that would mean 7 months of heating (till end March)Shock

i've pulled the throw off the sofa and am hiding underneath.

seb1 · 18/09/2010 23:11

Maybe this should be in style & beauty but how about one of these Grin

QuizteamBleakley · 18/09/2010 23:23

Ooh, we're all about the global warming in our house! We've had the heating on for a week or so AND had the woodburner's been blazing tonight. We've got an old, old, old house, over three floors that needs months of warming through before Proper Winter gets here. Our 1st DC is due mid-Dec so we're making sure all will be toasty when he gets here Smile

dandydorset · 19/09/2010 00:06

YANBU u pay the bill,if your cold its miserable, dont feel bad everybodys different

SpareRoomSleeper · 19/09/2010 00:11

Ive had the heating on all day today.
