come home from a night out then sit in the back garden, drinking some more and talking very loudly, while wearing coats and huddled round their chiminea (sp) fire thing.

Why not just sit in the warm house where you are not disturbing your neighbours?

Because when you are pissed you don't feel the cold? (Or realise quite how loud and annoying you are being)

Oh well, we do get on with them but they do this quite a lot, last time they put music on as well, until I yelled out of the window

I do this every Boxing Day. It's my birthday and it's like my party. But to be fair we only go on till about 10pm so we're hardly disturbing anyone's sleep.

But I definitely understand why it's fun to do .

We don't smoke, either.

We always sit outside around our log burner, its more relaxing, no tv etc, its nice to stargaze, but we do keep the noise down. Mainly because our kids bedrooms overlook the back garden.

To smoke. It's normal.

They might think that it is less noisy than doing it in the house (if you are terraced or semi).

Because it's great fun to party around a fire!

Because a 'coal burn' from a special cigarette is less harmful outside than indoors
