Love it and buy 600g or whatever they are plastic tubs from Costco - when I'm in the UK. DH hates is and DD only likes it occasionally. However, I last went to the UK in April last year, so down to my last half inch in the bottom.

Hope I don't get desperate enough to think that ?4 for a tiny jar is good value.

mmm love it,love it, love it Grin
Smeared on hot white toast with a smidgin of butter - delish!

Gave some to my Norwegian SIL (who had never heard of marmite) and she almost vomited. We're a family of marmite lovers and she was absolutley repulsed at how we could eat such a thing!

howdoo · 17/09/2010 21:55

I have marmite on toast for breakfast AND lunch. Every day. (Although I do also have other stuff as well for lunch.)
Mmmmmmm

Mouseface · 17/09/2010 22:02

Take two, thick slices of soft, white, bread.

Smother in lashings of Marmite and grated mature cheddar cheese.

Place the dressed slices under a medium heat grill until the cheese is melted and oozing, with a light golden brown colour.

Slice the bread into two triangles, make a cup of steaming hot tea and enjoy.

This isn't any ordinary cheese on toast, this is Mouseface cheese on toast! Grin

IMoveTheStars · 17/09/2010 23:56

When I was a kid my Dad did analytical food testing. Marmite sent a 10L bucket of marmite for testing when they only needed about 10ml Grin

Can you imagine.. that much marmite in the same kind of container paint comes in GrinGrin

SlightlyJaded · 18/09/2010 11:59

Chipping you are so right about Vogel bread. It was as though it was created for marmite on toast. And it's also good for marmite and cucumber sandwiches.

Am a bit :( I really want to like the sound of marmite pasta but I can't feel it. Sounds wrong

Animation · 18/09/2010 12:00

I agree with Edgar

TheFoosa · 18/09/2010 13:28

I think you have to have been indoctrinated to the evil that is Marmite from an early age

never heard of it until I was about 17 Hmm

salizchap · 18/09/2010 14:15

Marmite! With butter... on hot, hot crumpets! Yuuummmmmmieeee!

YASNBU.

Anniegetyourgun · 18/09/2010 14:57

I hate to cavil when you're agreeing with me, but actually, it's honey for crumpets, sorry.

Alouiseg, but it only tastes right from that shaped jar with a yellow lid. Silver lids are just missing the point. I'd expect it to have turned into marmalade overnight.

toasted marmite soldiers with boiled eggs.

YUM

BarringtonWomble · 18/09/2010 15:06

Ooh yes love a bit of Marmite. Don't approve of that horrible Vegemite pretender though. Ugh!
