How many threads have you started solely because you were feeling arsey and wanted to provoke a reaction?

Is that the same as trolling?

Probably isn't if you use your own name ...?

None BUT.......

pre-period and a really arsey thread that I'm just reading can really, really fly up my nose! I've learnt to avoid MN in the week before my period!

...

pagwatch · 17/09/2010 08:39

none

if i am feeling arsey there are plenty of totally wanky threads to join without the trouble of starting my own.

I wouldn't try and provoke a fight.
One thing to have a ruck but deliberately upseting people just because you are in a bad mood is horrible

StealthPolarBear · 17/09/2010 08:45

none i think
i've only ever namechanged to be funny (ok, probsably wasn't!), be seasonal, or rarely, talk about work/my job situation in more detail than I probably should.
i once name changed and challenged people to guess who i was from my way of typing, that was taken the wrong way (partly my fault) but the intention wasn't bad iyswim & i outed myself as soon as i realised it had gone wrong

LoveBeing · 17/09/2010 08:48

No but its a good idea Grin

pagwatch · 17/09/2010 08:51

It is a downside of having been here more than a year or two that it is sooooo obvious how to do it. Grin
Like having a stink bomb in your pocket

RaisedFromPerdition · 17/09/2010 08:55

I have been here 6 years and changed name around 70 times. I have never started a thread to be inflammatory.

MoralDefective · 17/09/2010 10:18

None..why bother when there are already plenty to wind you upConfused

GetOrfMoiLand · 17/09/2010 10:23

Never - and have been strangely upset when a thread I have started, and which I thought was about a benign topic, kicks off.

proudnglad · 17/09/2010 12:23

None, but thanks for giving me the idea.

HecateQueenOfWitches · 17/09/2010 14:57

none. I don't get any pleasure from trying to annoy people.

YaddahYaddahYaddah · 18/09/2010 09:45

Once. After a bottle of wine. Drunk because of a bad day. Hmm

Changed my name after when i suddenly wised (OK sobered) up and realise - what the cluck did I do that for.

Recently (well today) changed my name again not for any particular reason than I felt like it.

nikkershaw · 18/09/2010 10:13

feeling angry about something yes, and sometimes it can come out as trying to provoke, but never first in my mind.

usually makes good conversation though if people feel riled. (imo!)

laweaselmys · 18/09/2010 10:17

Never. But I realised a few weeks ago that I was purposefully reading threads that I knew would wind me up and then being arsey on them.

So. Erm. Sorry.

(Took a break afterwards. I'm better now!)

Ilythia · 18/09/2010 10:19

I did start a Bad Mood Thread where I could hide and post responses I wanted to post on other threads but would have been unfair too.
Got bollocked on it though

None. I hate confrontation. I'm a wimp through and through.

AnxiousLand · 18/09/2010 11:27

OH SHUT UP IDIOT

JaneS · 18/09/2010 12:13

Loads! If something pisses me off in RL I come on here and put it in AIBU, it's great therapy and means I don't yell at the RL people. Isn't that the point? Confused
