who sent me this email chain thingy about drink drivers. No problem there. However her, my FIL and I have had big fallings out about both of them drinking and driving!!! She drove once , and I was tipsy, because I made a fuss that FIL was going to drive pissed. She then said she was sober, and I was more drunk so didn;t notice that she wasn't, and when we got home she said she was too pissed to park!!!

We don't get on anyway and the notion that she sends this on has really pissed me off this morning. FIL repeatedly has two pints of strong lager and drives, more if I'm not around I'm sure and both say things like 'I'm a better driver when I'm pissed because I'm more cautious'.

I assume that the chain email was advocating drunk driving?

Silly cow. (her, not you)

Tell her to tell it to the people who lose loved ones each week due to selfish fuckers getting behind the wheel after too many shandies.

My ex-neighbour was a habitual drink-driver. His girlfriend left him over it eventually and sadly he ended up knocking a man off his motorbike and paralysing him from the waist down. It's usually always someone else that ends up worse off, never the idiots driving pissed.

I could tap into DH's account and reply from him that it's about time they stopped then!!

Do you mean that it was anti and moralising and that she is being a hypocrite?

If so I think calling her on it will cause a huge row. Reply saying " thanks for the email, it really made me think. From now on we have made a family decision to only travel with drivers who have had no alcohol at all. Thanks so much for suggesting it"

PosieParker · 16/09/2010 10:47

No, it's condemning drink driving and she's added her and FIL names??? I just can't believe it.

See, I;d have to very sarcastic to MIL and say "you do realise that you have put your name down to support NOT drink driving? I was just wondering if you realised as you seem to do it a lot"

But that wouldn't be very helpful Grin

I've written the email twice and had to delete, it's too tempting!!

PosieParker · 16/09/2010 14:12
