She was playing ( mostly hiding in a box) i was half ill and laying on sofa watching tv.

Watched the inbetweeners, the testicle one.

No recation from her at all, - didnt think she had seen it.

anyway - last night she was talking to my sister on webcam and told her and thought iwas really really funny becuase he hadnt put his pants on properly.

Not sure what an inbetweener is. I am assuming it is a preoperative transgender individual. I suppose it depends on how old she is.

redder- its not the testicle- its the language and attitudes that she shouldn't be seeing! I LOVE the Inbetweeners, but no way would I let children watch it just because of its content and language. I'm no prude, but all it takes is her to mention "Mingemobile" and "your Dad is bent" and "clunge" in school and it will look very embarrasing for you!

You didn't say how old DD was. I would say if she was 2, then most of the crudeness would go over her head. If she was 10, then it might prompt questions she is not ready to hear the answer to. Would you really want to be explaining eg. masterbation, anal sex, blow jobs and a sixteen year old shitting his pants etc to your ten year old?

How hard would it have been to watch something else if your DD was in the room?

Having said that, I find Inbetweeners very funny. But the kids are banned from watching it, and Skins, and Misfits until they are 16.

Was in on Monday nigth that you watched it and how old is she, if she is little then perhaps she should have been in bed. I personally wouldn't have something like this on with a child present.

I watched that episode and was ROFL with my DD who is 16 now. Might have switched such a thing off even a year ago.

FWIW, I don't think I'd have let my DD be in the same room while it was on. I was watching Sean of the dead while DD was off sick from school. We were both on the sofa and she was asleep on my legs. she woke up and saw lots of blood etc. I thought I'd turned it off quickly enough but a TA remarked a couple of days later about watching video nasties with children not being a good thing.

I've heard of school having a quiet word with parents if they mention programmes with adult content, so maybe you need to be careful, when she gets to school, as she is taking note even though she doesn't understand it.

I don't think you need to worry about any lasting damage.

i dont normally watch that sort of thing with her about. Im lucky if i get to watch any tv before she goes to bed.

4 is much too young to even be in the same room when that's on. My DS and 4 and even when he looks busy he is taking everything in.

My DD picks up anything she hears or sees. It's quite amazing what they remember from eons ago when you think they haven't heard.

I therefore don't watch any shows with "adult content" or even soaps etc when she's around.
She currently - for the last six months keeps telling everyone that her favourite song is "touch me,feel me"

I think 18 rated is a bit OTT

there isn't any grphic sex or violence....although some of the sexist language is probably just as damaging

however, I do feel it is tempered by the fact that lads are portrayed as complete doofuses who never get the girl, and the girls are cool who think the lads are complete nobs

My nearly 15yo watches it, and loves it, but she tells me this kind of language is common currency at school !

My 16yo son says his life is just like Inbetweeners!

When my DD was 4 she caught an episode of South Park on TV, it was on in background and I wasn't paying attention......until she asked my MIL at the table one sunday lunch what a DILDO was !

Needless to say I was more careful in future......but we still laugh about it.

BTW the Inbetweeners is hysterical !
