DS age 10 just told me 2 boys in his class have their hair cut at Toni and Guy.

10 year old boys! Come on. Why not just stand in the street tearing up tenners?

Ds has just had his hair cut there, it was £15 and looks fab!

MistsandMellowMilady · 10/09/2010 19:26

Grin at tearing up tenners.

YANBU.

shinyshoes · 10/09/2010 19:28

They aren't Justin Beiber look alikes are they Grin

My son goes to a good ole barber £8.00 a time and barbers with bums I have to restrain myself from squeezing

Each to their own. We aren't poor but even I wouldn't have my childrens hair cut there. Its all weird A symmetrical styles

bigfootbeliever · 10/09/2010 19:28

They charged my DH £35 and it looked the same as when he went in!

YANBU.

Alouiseg · 10/09/2010 19:28

Ds1 loves it there! Unfortunately dh vetoed it, tight arse.

What's £44 between father and son?

belledechocolatefluffybunny · 10/09/2010 19:28

£15 is hardly a load of tenners. It costs £10 here in a normal shop anyway for a boys haircut.

skooobie · 10/09/2010 19:28

i have my dcs hair cut there and they are 18months and 4!! they always do a fantastic job!

nikkershaw · 10/09/2010 19:29

£15 isn't much is it Grin

MistsandMellowMilady · 10/09/2010 19:29

Then again I sent DD to our local grim "Curl Up and Dye" type establishment with instructions for it to be trimmed.

I had to leave because DS was kicking off (hates hairdressers) and when I came back they had washed it and wanted £13.50 Shock

belledechocolatefluffybunny · 10/09/2010 19:29

It's half price for children if you take them in Mondat to Wednesday (check with them first though)

pagwatch · 10/09/2010 19:30

It depend why really

DD has her hair cut at the Aveda salon and she is only 8. She had it done at Toni and Guy when she was five. Because they did hers while I had mine done so I didn't need to worry about her.

I would pay for DS to get his hair cut there if it was more convenient than any other alternative. But only ifthey do what I tell them and not give him the 'recently trapped in a wind tunnel' look.

But i actually do have more money than sense.

thisisyesterday · 10/09/2010 19:32

i pay £13 for ds2 to have his done in a kids place with a big fish tank Blush

belledechocolatefluffybunny · 10/09/2010 19:34

More money then sense? I walked past the creme de la mer stand in John Lewis and quickly ran off once I saw those prices, I'm good with my cash! Grin

TheCrackFox · 10/09/2010 19:35

Actually sometimes the poncetastic hairdressers do childrens hair very cheaply. It is like heroin addiction, it always starts off affordable.....

pagwatch · 10/09/2010 19:38

lol at mullett pushers

PinkElephant73 · 10/09/2010 19:39

belle maybe it was the £15 special then - its usual £50 for a "grown ups" cut and blow dry with my stylist. SIL took her DD there on a weekend and had to pay full whack - eek.

still twice the price of the local place I take the DCs and they are absolutely fine to do boys hair TBH.

EdgarAllInPink · 10/09/2010 19:39

mwhhah hahhhh..

my litle boy is doomed to having his hair done by me

doomed! Doooooooooooooooooooooooooomed...

evil cackling

belledechocolatefluffybunny · 10/09/2010 19:39

I won't be taking ds back, he's a tad on the sensitive 'everything hurts my head/that's way too hot (when it's not)' type so wasn't impressed with the heat from the hairdryer.

Threelittleducks · 10/09/2010 19:39

I don't get to spend £15 on my own hair! I wish! One day maybe, when we are rich and famous :)

We bought a set of clippers and I do the boys every couple of months. Looks alright and saves us a fortune!

nancydrewrocked · 10/09/2010 19:42

£15 in Toni and Guy here as long as you go mid week. Trotters charge £12 - and frankly I could do better. At keast I don't feel like crying after a Toni and Guy visit.

TeaOneSugar · 10/09/2010 19:43

I pay about £15 for DD (6) to have her hair cut at the same salon I go to, she gets a free fringe trim in between appointments so a cut lasts her a long time and she likes to go to Mummy's grown up "fancy" salon, why not?

diddl · 10/09/2010 19:44

I used to live an hour and a half train ride from London, but some one I know made that journey so that her boy´s first hair cut could be at Sassoons.

thisisyesterday · 10/09/2010 19:45

haha Trotters is where i take ds2. they've always done it beautifully

stickylittlefingers · 10/09/2010 19:48

it has long been my ambition to have more money than sense.

Portofino · 10/09/2010 19:51

Where I go in Belgium, it costs the same for dd as it does for me! I try not to go too often! Obviously I tried going somewhere else, but it was such a disaster I am now too scared.
