DS age 10 just told me 2 boys in his class have their hair cut at Toni and Guy.

10 year old boys! Come on. Why not just stand in the street tearing up tenners?

sticky it really helps if you have very very little sense
If you are deeply stupid it is achievable on a very moderate income.

diddl · 10/09/2010 19:51

Yes, me too-and that would make me very rich as I´m very sensibleGrin

belledechocolatefluffybunny · 10/09/2010 19:56

I really don't think £15 on a childs haircut is bad. This doesn't make me stupid Hmm

scottishmummy · 10/09/2010 20:09

as a child i vowed id send mine to hairdresser after years of mum wonky cutting my hair and resultant piss talking at school..and they all go posh hairdresser

btw,£15 is v reasonable

pointydog · 10/09/2010 20:12

How much did they pay, Pink? We can't comment if we don't know.

Young boys are VERY into their hair. Just as much as the girls. So don't be sexist.

pointydog · 10/09/2010 20:13

oh, was it £15? That's ok.

I pay £16 for my dds to go to the hairdresser in our local drab town.

mumbar · 10/09/2010 20:20

Here weekends £11.50 and weekdays £8.50 at local men and kids cutting place. They have special kids chairs and dvds so is actually an enjoyable experience. Do go weekdays tho!!!

SlightlyJaded · 10/09/2010 20:25

Our local Headmasters does children's haircuts Mon-Fri for £8. It's fab. They do a proper wash / condition / head massage (!) they give them a magazine or comic to read and a babycino or bottle of sparking mineral water and a biscuit. Decent cut and blow dry too! Consequently My DS3 and DD5 LOVE going to the hairdressers

Quattrocento · 10/09/2010 20:27

It's cheaper than the DCs haircuts. ROFL at tearing up tenners though.

MistsandMellowMilady · 10/09/2010 20:32

Slighty do your local Headmasters really cut children's hair or was that an auto-correct?

Fantastic image though Grin

PinkElephant73 · 10/09/2010 20:34

pointydog I dont know how much they paid. I know my SIL paid full price for her DD on a weekend so £40 ish.

another poster has said its £15 for kids haircuts Mon-Weds at their T&G.

CherryChapstick · 10/09/2010 20:36

I have 3 kids and I pay nothing for their haircuts or DDs highlights as I do it for free. I am the only member of my household who has to pay. Confused

CupCakesWithBellsOn · 10/09/2010 20:36

Yeah, we know you do Pagwatch you remind us every chance you get. Hmm

And yes I AM a so called 'long standing member who has namechanged'

MistsandMellowMilady · 10/09/2010 20:56

That's unfair, CCWBO.

Pag doesn't boast IMO and is always saying that she has been lucky in the financial sense rather than thinking that she is entitled to it.

And she has not been immune from worry regarding her children either. Far from it.

Why are you so bitter?

azazello · 10/09/2010 20:59

I take my DD to the hairdressers with me but they do half price cuts. However, it is the only time I've ever seen her have her hair washed willingly without screams/ tantrums/running away/ biting/ kicking.

I think if I had just a bit more money I'd get her hair washed there every week and save myself the trauma.

pagwatch · 10/09/2010 21:00

Grin actually I was commenting on my lack of sense.

But take it as you will

Mniemmniem · 10/09/2010 21:03

If I had a pound I'd have more money than sense..

coolma · 10/09/2010 21:04

Well, I clearly have more money than sense. My dd only has one ear, as do I - I go to the best hairdresser in town who charges me £64 and dd £29 for a cut - this is because I spent my childhood being stared at by stupid ignorant hairdressers who had no idea how to deal with somebody 'different'. My hairdresser knows that dd needs a good cut to cover her ear. I get all sorts of comments about how 'rich' we are. er, yes, right...

pagwatch · 10/09/2010 21:04

You don't need to name change on my account. Genuinely. I have no problem if you think I am a bit of a twat. I think I am a bit of a twat too.

I've posted a couple of things recently where I know I have sounded a bit of a knobber.
But i have had a crappy month and i post rubbish when I am drunk tired. I tend to hope that as lots of us do the same it gets excused in the melee.

I am not sure why you would feel the need to name change though

AlCrowley · 10/09/2010 21:08

DS is 3 and I take him to my 'poncetastic hairdressers'. Costs the best part of £50 to have my hair cut but they do his for £5 and make a brilliant job of it too.

undercovamutha · 10/09/2010 21:10

I pay between £50 and £70 for a haircut for me. It is my one remaining treat from my preDC days!!

I pay £5 for DD to have her haircut by a mobile haridresser, I cut DH's hair myself (not much of it tbh!!), and DS (17mo) has yet to need a haircut.

It is the one area of my life where I prioritise me over the rest of the family, and long may it last!!!!

You are not in any way a twat Pag

I've name-changed about four times since 2007 due to idiocy on my part so you must be doing okay since people still love you Smile

lovechoc · 10/09/2010 21:25

DS goes to the barbers for his haircut - £3. No need to be paying any more than £5 at the very most IMO - it's only a haircut!

Buddjela · 10/09/2010 21:31

I would so love to have more money than sense (I'm very sensible)

My DSs got their haircut a few weeks ago at Toni and Guy, mind you it was for free AND i was given a goodie bag all for meeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!

When i was leaving i checked out the price of a haircut for moi - the cheapest was ?62 Shock and children's cuts were a bargin price of 25% on Mon-Wed. Ouch!
