to think that in a family, everyone should clean the toilet after themselves

the toilet brush thread seems to suggest that many Mumsnetters take it for granted that the rest of the family will leave their skidmarks behind for mum to clean up later, with the implement of her choice.

Is it really like that?
Other than small children, isn't everyone in your family expected to clean up after themselves?

Or are you the only one who scrapes the bowl out...

Me and DH both do our fair share of cleaning the toilet.

we hardly ever get skids in the loo. One or other of us gives it a clean every so often. It never requires out and out scrubbing though!

DS not potty trained yet (haven't started trying tbh) so certainly can't be trained to scrub a loo. He's already very good at throwing away rubbish for me though Grin

We don't clean the toilet bowl out every time we go to the toilet in this family. But everyone takes turns in cleaning the Bathroom and toilet about once a week, But if we notice the toilet needs cleanin during the week thn the person who noticed cleans it. I only have one DD at home now and she is 18. But when all 3 DD's were at home they all took turns in claening the bathroom from about 11 years old onwards.

Sorry didn't mean to post twice. Also it's about the only job they would all do without a lot of hassle.
