Starting new job tomorrow (hurrah) but i am expected to do another induction.

I have worked for these people for 5 years.

i also had to do the same induction 18 months ago wen i started studenting at the same place.

utterly pointless no?

would it be unreasonable to take my ipod and a book?

does seem pointless, not U to take either of those

I think it is to do with OH & S regulations. It is just a tick on a sheet. Everyone starting a new role needs to have the tick to say they have done the induction. Pointless paperwork, yes, but by regulations it needs to be done.

I understand it is annoying but I do think it would be rude to the instructor to take a book and ipod. It also sets a bad look to any new employees that may be sharing the induction with you. It might say to them 'well the other employees dont really give a shit about this/the company/other staff' type thing iykwim?

I would be annoyed too though!
