Mine can go out at 10 but no earlier

scurryfunge · 05/09/2010 11:46

Yes of course it is ok. What has caused the complaint? Are they excessively noisy?

FerminaUrbinoDaza · 05/09/2010 11:46

Sounds fine to me. Children usually begin to appear in the street at about 9:30 where I am .

ShinyAndNew · 05/09/2010 11:47

Why wouldn't it be? Personally I prefer not getting up at all on a Sunday, but the children in the park opposite our house seem to like be up and noisy by 10am. I cope with it.

borderslass · 05/09/2010 11:47

Mine used to go out at 9am but no earlier.

GypsyMoth · 05/09/2010 11:47

yep, fine here too. mine dont, but others do..

MollysChambers · 05/09/2010 11:48

Of course it is. Why would it not be??

AgentZigzag · 05/09/2010 11:48

Of course it's alright, unless the person complaining has a hangover and then they might be more unreasonable than normal.

gtamom · 05/09/2010 11:49

Yanbu. Of course it is ok. Assuming they are showing consideration for others. Not screaming near a window of a night shift worker, or someone who has a new baby, who may have been awake all night type of situation.

POFAKKEDDthechair · 05/09/2010 11:50

YANBU at all. You can't confine children indoors every sunday morning until late. that would be ridiculous.

xstitch · 05/09/2010 11:50

You can't stay in all day just in case someone has a hangover/not feeling well. I had a migraine yesterday and noise always makes me feel worse but I wouldn't dream of complaining about kids out playing.

plonker · 05/09/2010 11:54

10am is perfectly reasonable.

...unless they have formed a rock band on your front lawn of course ...

PortraitOfAnApology · 05/09/2010 11:56

10am is reasonable - why would you think not?

FloraFinching · 05/09/2010 11:56

yeah. actually I reckon 8am weekdays, 9am weekends, with a caveat that they will be brought back in til 10 if excessively noisy.

lifeas3plus1 · 05/09/2010 11:57

I let ds out in the garden at whatever time he wants.

Sometimes 7am. But then I'm calling it payback for all my neighbours who think it's perfectly ok to wake my ds up 3 times a night because "i put him to bed too early anyway"

(ds is 16months, goes to bed at 7pm, child next door 18months, child upstairs 8ish months both nowhere near going to bed even at midnight)

If I had nice neighbours then 9.30/10.00 am would be the earliest I'd let him go out.

Vallhala · 05/09/2010 11:59

10am sounds fine to me.

onimolap · 05/09/2010 11:59

Anything after 9ish seems reasonable to me, but with a caveat that they shouldn't ever be screaming or excessively noisy at any time right under other people's windows.

misdee · 05/09/2010 12:00

kids got sworn at because someone had a hangover.

am Angry

kids arent excessively noisey. they dont swear themselves, are polite kids. had loads of girls in tears for getting sworn at.

OP posts:
ChippingIn · 05/09/2010 12:01

Anything after 9 is fine, but irrespective of the time of day, I don't let them scream & shout for endless amounts of time - even if it's 'having fun kind of noise'.

What's the problem??

TheCrackFox · 05/09/2010 12:03

10am is absolutely fine for playing outside. It really is not on swearing at children (or anybody for that matter) and I would go round and have a word with the twonk.

misdee · 05/09/2010 12:03

we dont let them scream. they are all girls who play out and girls scvreeching can be ear-splitting. i know as a mum of 4 girls.

last week we heard one of the girls screaming. two of us mums, both came out at the same time to say stop screaming. and it wasnt our kids lol.

ChasingSquirrels · 05/09/2010 12:03

10am is fine

6.50am for manic whirring DIY (think chainsaw) in the garden IS NOT! (guess who got woken up this morning)

amidaiwish · 05/09/2010 12:04

well if someone had a hangover and swore at little girls at 10am, they would probably do the same at 11am, midday or 1pm.

YANBU

misdee · 05/09/2010 12:04

i did have a word. and she swore at me as well Hmm have told them to play by my house. all of 3 doors away from hers Hmm

YADNBU, 10am is an absolutely fine time for children to be out playing.
