Where's the "any" topic?

Grin

Have hidden Ante/post natal clubs because I'm not in one and have no intention of being in one.

Otherwise have not hidden anything just in case something interesting is posted in an unexpected arena.

FallingWithStyle · 29/08/2010 21:56

I hide antenatal, postnatal and - not a topic but - any regular chat type thread.

southeastastra · 29/08/2010 21:56

lol

TiggyD · 29/08/2010 21:56

You can view any topic by using the 'Any Key' on your computer.

2shoes · 29/08/2010 21:57

yabu
some are crap
I don't want to wade through stuff that I find..well boring or has no bearing on my life.(yes I have hidden that topic)

southeastastra · 29/08/2010 21:58

aw 2 shoes there have been so many changes n'est pas

larks35 · 29/08/2010 21:58

I've never understood this "hiding a topic" business, surely if it isn't one that interests you (that is most of the topics on here for me), then you don't enter it. What is the difference?

notnowbernard · 29/08/2010 21:58

I've hidden loads

It's very liberating and limits the irritation factor

"Why hide and not enter" ?

Because the ante/post-natal thread titles in particular make my teeth itch

notnowbernard · 29/08/2010 22:00

Meant to say just not enter

Meglet · 29/08/2010 22:01

You lot aren't nosy enough.

I have nothing hidden. I consider it an education to browse random topics.

LoveBeingInBed · 29/08/2010 22:03

I've hidden topics and threads, clears the way on the active convo list for stuff that i do want to see.

if you don't hide them you have to wade through them on AC
can't be bothered too tbh, I don't have a need to go into places like BF/BF or faminism/polotics/camping/chicken keeping, so I hide them

thelunar66 · 29/08/2010 22:05

Am with you SEA... I hide nothing!

FerminaUrbinoDaza · 29/08/2010 22:06

larks35 - because some find it irritating to have active convos cluttered up with stuff they have no intention of reading...

I seem to have quite a long list of hidden topics, I didn't think I'd hidden so many. can't say I miss them. I tend to hide the ongoing chat threasd too...

PedlarsSpanner · 29/08/2010 22:08

I've got loads hidden using the patented Slubbers Technique for Zen MNing

Highly recommended

CatIsSleepy · 29/08/2010 22:08

yeah have hidden ante/post-natal too, baby names, various others, can't actually remember as I hid them so long ago!
and I hide threads every day
more and more
it's therapeutic Grin

nameymcnamechange · 29/08/2010 22:09

larks35 - if you hide an entire topic that doesn't interest you (for me that would be, say, Ante Natal, Forces Sweethearts, Breast and Bottle feeding) then you simply get a less cluttered Active Convos, with more threads that are likely to interest you. Hiding individual threads is actually quite time consuming!

Of course you are utterly U, sea.

Lauriefairycake · 29/08/2010 22:12

I hid a few right at the beginning and I've forgotten which ones they were - I know one is 'special needs' because someone pointed out that it was unhelpful for people to post random advice to parents of children with special needs as they had no clue about what it was like to be a parent of a child with special needs.

I thought they were right and realised I didn't want to accidentally make a twat of myself by accidentally posting on one.

Lauriefairycake I feel like that about that with a lot of topics, imagine going on a thread guns blazing thinking it was about a child, and finding it was about a chicken
