I would like to hide AIBU but haven't quite been able to bring myself to hit the button

The fact is (IMVHOWink) 85% of it is utter dross, but every now and again you get a great thread from it with some very insightful posts etc etc

I have LOVED hiding Baby Names. Used to do my head in

CatIsSleepy · 29/08/2010 22:18

well come to think of it my dds run around alot squawking

maybe i should unhide those chooks for some tips

Ladymuck · 29/08/2010 22:18

The thing I find most frustrating is that they keep inventing more categories. I didn't even know there was a feminism one until this weekend.

haha me too bernard 'bill or ben, which is better?'
WHO GIVES A FUCK

nameymcnamechange · 29/08/2010 22:22

I find Babynames to be a wholly satisfying Topic. So simple and straightforward.

SharonGless · 29/08/2010 22:24

Oooh yes I hid baby names and my MN experience is much better for it. TBH I couldn't give a fuck if you don't like my DC names and am not realy arsed about what is "popular" and what is not

Bf/ff is too emotive for me so hid it and feel better for it

Tippychoocks · 29/08/2010 22:24

Cat, hiding chickens is your loss Sad

I like Baby names. I like the lack of humour, it makes me laugh Grin.

CatIsSleepy · 29/08/2010 22:25

beerTricks, don't get me wrong, I like chickens

made a lovely chicken stew for dinner Grin

DreamTeamGirl · 29/08/2010 22:27

How DO you hide a topic?

I can hide a thread but no idea how to hide a whole topic

BabyNames is a great place to be flippant, I find.

CatIsSleepy · 29/08/2010 22:29

i might have to go and do a bit more hiding

those pushchairs have got to go fgs

Ladymuck · 29/08/2010 22:30

There is a customize button next to Topics. Though I think that I'm on the old analogue Mumsnet Classic as it was back in the day before they mucked about with the format and went all digital.

Hassled · 29/08/2010 22:35

I do hide the stuff I have no interest in whatsoever - the parallel universe of pushchair buying, ebay, ante and postnatal stuff. I've kept childbirth because I do like a good live labour thread, and baby names is great - it turns out I have many many opinions on baby names :o.

I need to be more ruthless, not less - the healthy eating stuff goes straight past me, the Twilight stuff just baffles me - there's loads I could happily MN without.

DreamTeamGirl · 29/08/2010 22:35

Thanks Ladymuck!
Have hidden the one in question!

2shoes · 29/08/2010 22:37

i must now go and look at the baby name topic (still shocked that it needs a topic)
i mean, so you post I want to call my son fred, and someone you have never met says omg Fred is horrid, wtf do you not call it fredConfused

2shoes · 29/08/2010 22:39

where is it? I found one called "ford" but no baby names

Hassled · 29/08/2010 22:41

Here. It's a delight :o.

kelly2525 · 29/08/2010 22:42

Ive not looked at the baby names one, am currently pregnant, and dont give a fuck what anyone thinks of the names ive picked for my son, and, for the record, everyone in real life hates the middle name, but i dont give a toss, i just dont understand people asking for other people`s opinons on names, like 2shoes says, what are they gonna do when you tell them actually, its a horrid chavvy name and the kid is gonna be bullied thanks to you? Are they gonna pick another name? Ive avoided that topic on here, but on a baby site im on theyre always asking what everyone thinks of their names, i tend to say nothing, cos most of the time i cant think of a kind word

nameymcnamechange · 29/08/2010 22:44

Yes, kelly, but some people do like to discuss baby names and that's why they have a topic. No need for you to be quite so brittle about it, is there?

CatIsSleepy · 29/08/2010 22:45

Hassled- and now I remember why i hid that topic, thanks for the reminder Grin
