what an odd topic, I can't get it sorry, can't people decide on anything by themselves nowadays? will we soon have a should I have a cup of tea topic|?

Im not actually being brittle on any of the "oh purleeeeease tell me ive chosen the bestest most perfect original name in the world for my baby" threads though am i? And thats what it comes down to, people wanting to be told how clever they are for coming up with a fabulous name.

I dont get it either 2shoes, i wouldnt even ask friends and family what they think of my choice of name for my son, its such a personal thing and its my decision, i cetainly dont need anyone elses approval.

So if im being brittle, then its cos its an irritating question to ask, and thats why i avoid those threads, i dont hide them though, just cant be arsed looking at them

see op that is why me and Kelly hide topics:o

AnnoyingOrange · 29/08/2010 23:14

I've hidden loads of topics

and lately I've been hiding a lot of threads

kelly2525 · 29/08/2010 23:15

And if i cant be brittle in AIBU, where can i be brittle?

seaturtle · 30/08/2010 00:35

YABU I was hiding topics this evening. Didn't realize there were so many topics for me to hide, but I did keep Chickens. I don't have chickens but I'd like the option to be nosy about the chicken keeping world. It's about personal preferences, isn't it?

differentnameforthis · 30/08/2010 03:54

larks35, I hide topics so they don't show in active, as then I get more of what I to see.

If I have say ante natal, style & beauty, ebay, holidays, book club, products, etc etc not hidden, then a large % of those will show up in my active convos, pushing out more relevant-to-me threads.

Whereas, if I hide them, I get more chance of seeing the topics I do want!

So it isn't a matter of just not clicking/posting is is about optimising active convos for your needs.

I've just hidden Feminism too. It always makes me feel really inadequate.

Goblinchild · 30/08/2010 08:39

I hide topics to clear up Active Convos for me, all the ones that are irrelevant or uninteresting to me.
YABU OP, it's not as if my hiding a topic destroys it for everyone else. It's just personalising it to my own taste.
Just like my bookshelves at home reflect my tastes.
