Hi Mumsnetters,

Any ideas on how to get DH (and new Dad) to start thinking about his wife and son before playing sport?!

I'm a new Mum and feeling a bit fed up that he sees his spare time as HIS. (I've tried explaining that it's really my spare time too, as he can then help out with DS).

Thanks!

oooh I had this it took years to sort!!!!sorry! Got no magical answer im afraid but hope it helps your not alone and we did get there in the end.

You could just try booking your time in ie say next sat pm im going to blah blah so please be free to babysit so he cant complain he's busy or did not know etc

Good luck

Thanks! I had a hunch there wouldn't be a quick fix, but as you say, it's really nice to know you got there in the end!

No. It's not babysitting.

Agreeing time with each other is good, but calling it 'babysitting' makes it seem like he is doing you a favour. He's not just YOUR son.
