Mine are sat in front of 'cartonito' (guessing their littler at your end) They are so bored at being pent up in the house as I've been trying to get our house back to normal after 2 home made house extensions in 2 yrs (I have so much cleaning to do) ?TV is my saviour until the neighbours go to work, then they can finally get out in the garden to play!

A bit of tele doesn't hurt them, far worse things go on at sea ;)

honie · 28/08/2010 08:52

they're Blush

TanteRose · 28/08/2010 08:54

that's what the TV is for....

I was always Hmm when people said that TV should not be used as a virtual babysitter, and that you should choose the programmes carefully, and sit with your kids watching them...

the whole point is that they are occupied so you can do something else Smile

snickersnack · 28/08/2010 09:02

We are staying with a friend. I went to bed at 1.30 having drunk far too much. They woke at 6.30. Said friend has no children and no means of entertaining beyond huge flat screen tv. Guess what we're doing?

skooobie · 28/08/2010 09:24

same here mine are watching laZY town and eating jaffa caks!! Blush

NestaFiesta · 28/08/2010 09:32

YADNBU.

Nobody can entertain their children every waking hour unless you have a butler, a cleaner, a laundress, a maid, and no personal needs of your own i.e showering, eating, dressing etc.

Otherwise, there will be times when the telly just has to get switched on for a bit whilst you do other stuff. Most of Cbeebies is educational anyway.

You're a parent not a robot.

mellymooks · 28/08/2010 09:38

Cbeebies is the best invention ever I would have cracked long ago without it, my DD has always watched a fair bit and is bright as a button, I wouldn't be surviving my 2nd pregnancy without it as it's the only time I get to put my feet up Smile

Bumperlicious · 28/08/2010 09:56

I am heavily pg and haven't slept a full night in 8 months. TV is my friend.

Plus DD is a talker and TV is the only thing that keeps her quiet for any length of time.

Meglet · 28/08/2010 10:07

YANBU.

Mine have had their teeth brushed and faces washed but are in their pj's watching cbeebies. I've only just had chance to eat breakfast.

SwanseaSlapper · 28/08/2010 10:10

I use it to get things done. DD hasnt been damaged as a result. I try to avoid things like Zingzillas. DD learns things from Show me show me, Justin and CHarlie and Lola as she repeats them to me afterwards.

Supercherry · 28/08/2010 10:11

YANBU, and I am quite relieved that this the consensus on this thread.

ben5 · 28/08/2010 10:14

we've moved up a level in our house and now on scooby doo!!! my kids are awake for 14 hours a day, there is no way on this earth i could entertain them for that long. they watch tv when i cook dinner, make lunch or have a shower. i don't mind them watching tv as they spent 2 hours running around at the beach this morning followed by 30 minutes in the park.

Maisiethemorningsidecat · 28/08/2010 10:18

YANBU at all

Thank the gods above for children's television and the sanity it brings.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 28/08/2010 10:22

TV is my friend at the moment. I am pregnant and sick as a dog.

DS is currently watching Peppa Pig on DH's laptop while we eat some belated breakfast. He will get plenty of fresh air later!

MamaVoo · 28/08/2010 12:29

YANBU. DS watches a fair bit of cbeebies and is a bright, happy little chap. I really don't know how people cope without it.

Maylee · 28/08/2010 12:34

God wouldn't have invented Cbeebies if he didn't want to give us mums a break. Mine is watching it right now - was supposed to be only while I did the cleaning but have clearly now finished and am on MN......
