I think that you lot are really uncaring and ignorant. I have read a thread where nearly all the mums have maybe a young girl feel unwanted and then went on to bitch about it.

I hope that your children become young parents so you know how it feels because you have some sort of problem with it. I think that use need to get a life and think about others. why not have a young parent section?

If it would help a lot of young parents relate to each other.

I think you all need to have a good look in the mirror.

OH by the way I love NETMUMS and the tickers Smile

OP posts:

OMG

12 sausages for 72p

that's only 6p each!!!

SirBoobAlot · 24/08/2010 13:49

I just dislike adults who act like they're still 13 years old. And there's very much a difference between having dyslexia or similar and just typing terribly.

cupcakesandbunting · 24/08/2010 13:49

I'm pretty sure that no-one would have mentioned grammar if the OP's post hadn't been the forum equivalent of poking a big stick into a wasp's nest...

Morloth · 24/08/2010 13:49

snow normally I would agree with you and I don't bother that much with spelling/grammar myself.

But the OP needed a kicking for her own good.

PawMum · 24/08/2010 13:49

I think you have all played into this posters hands really.

That said, I only once logged into netmums to find a topical discussion about how to make chocolate rice crispie cakes and as my 8 year old is quite capable of making them i did shake my head a little

MrsRhettButler · 24/08/2010 13:49

oh gosh! need's?! she was really trying wasnt she! bless Grin

StuckInTheMiddleWithYou · 24/08/2010 13:49

I know plenty of professional people with dyslexia, most of them have grammer which is as good as everyone elses.

So, are you proposing that most of NM members are dyslexic?

Morloth · 24/08/2010 13:51

I think that was the general idea PawMum, wouldn't be much point in denying we are a bunch of itches would it?

BubbaAndBump · 24/08/2010 13:52

Glittery Wanksplash Itches morloth?

sorry - I'll stop soon - honest :)

PawMum · 24/08/2010 13:52

well i for one am not a female dog, my paws would be too big to use the keyboard shhurely

cupcakesandbunting · 24/08/2010 13:52

I have found that I can usually tell if a poster's spelling/grammar issues are dyslexia related or stupid related. The dyslexic person will still be able to write with panache and argue a good argument whereas the thickos will read like a text message scribed by a pissed Vicki Pollard.

HTH.

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 24/08/2010 13:53

So I've got gutter language (another thread)and I'm a biatch.

snowpatrol1 · 24/08/2010 13:57

of course im not proposing all nms are dyslexic or have learning difficulties! im just saying, you cannot always assume bad grammar equals stupid. im by no means brilliant with my grammar or punctuation or even spelling, but i sure as hell would,t deliberately pick apart someone who is worse than me. as i said op was generally asking for trouble, and probably knew the response he/she would get from this type of post. i like that there is more freedom of speech on here, i dont like people sitting behind a computer screen, safely in there own home picking on people they deem beneath them!

feel free to attack my spelling, grammar and general typing skills...

katieandisabelle · 24/08/2010 13:57

I'm on both, I agree this site is a lot more upfront and striaght talking.

I've come across small minded posts on here though...but I have on NM too!

Have to say this thread gave me quite a giggle!

Im young and I don't particularly care if I don't fit in with an internet forum! Lol

I have no tickers either on NM ;)

I don't like it when people get pulled up on their spelling. But I do find it amusing when people write "grammer" Grin

spamm · 24/08/2010 14:01

Sorry, but what could possibly go into an 8p sausage? Confused Hmm

Dramamama · 24/08/2010 14:02

Pmsl @ mrsreality! I too am a young parent, i'm not stuck-up and consider myself pretty average i've been a member for a couple of yrs and dipped in and out but recently lost a baby and the only place i found people who really knew how i felt and understood without judgement was here. I understand what you mean because there are some on here who do judge and be-little but i tend to just ignore it because the majority of mums on here are genuinley lovely, you just have to know where to look Wink

tortoiseonthehalfshell · 24/08/2010 14:02

I don't assume that bad grammar equals stupid.

I assume that it equals breathtaking fucking arrogance that what you have to say is so important that I have to spend time deciphering it. You're not the fucking Rosetta Stone, buck it up and learn to write.

Seriously. If you want to be understood, make yourself understandable.

cupcakesandbunting · 24/08/2010 14:02

But, Snowpatrol, you illustrate my previous point perfectly.

You admit that your typing isn't up to much (doesn't look that bad!) but you're pretty eloquent and your point comes across well, which is all really anyone on MN cares about (other than wanksplashes and bumsex friday). When really, really bad syntax is coupled with liberal dashings of "lols", "hunnys" and "gawjuss hubbies", it is inevitable that some people might just question the intellect of that person. That's just how it works.
