I think that you lot are really uncaring and ignorant. I have read a thread where nearly all the mums have maybe a young girl feel unwanted and then went on to bitch about it.

I hope that your children become young parents so you know how it feels because you have some sort of problem with it. I think that use need to get a life and think about others. why not have a young parent section?

If it would help a lot of young parents relate to each other.

I think you all need to have a good look in the mirror.

OH by the way I love NETMUMS and the tickers Smile

Hah, Al Crowley, tis not just me Grin

You can use the Queen's postcode Psammead, just type Buck House into the postcode finder on the Royal Mail website. She won't mind.

RubberDuck · 24/08/2010 14:34

Yeah SW1A 1AA from memory - I usually give that to stupid wanky soft play places that insist on postcodes before they'll let the kids go in.

AlCrowley · 24/08/2010 14:34

You think they'd have given her something a little more special than SW1A 1AA

QU33 N13 maybe?

Psammead · 24/08/2010 14:34

Ooh, fab idea! Might actually join under Elizabeth Windsor too.

Hang on, would that be treason?

RubberDuck · 24/08/2010 14:35

HAHA QU33 N13 is awesome. Totally right, she should have that.

Alouiseg · 24/08/2010 14:35

So tempted to go over to (((hugs))) and Huns and ask for an opinion on..............

High frequency trading

Gilt auctions

Cfd's or even Cdo

On Mumsnet you can guarantee that a knowledgeable person is always around to cover every subject from the subtle shades of baby poo to clicker training an elephant.

AND I bet if you fall out with one person on one thread they bear a grudge whereas here we can have an almighty ruck on one thread whilst being perfectly civilised on another.

Are you actually a British citizen, Psammead? If not, then it cannot be treasonous. Not sure about the situation if you are a brit..........

No. But I'm picturing all of us "older" mums as a kind of virtual Dad's Army, fighting the "huns" on the beaches when the big invasion comes.

"Older" my arse, I'm 31. Cheeky cows.

Morloth · 24/08/2010 14:38

Invading Huns, not for hugging.

Tippychoocks · 24/08/2010 14:39

That was a "no" to the good invasion, not to Psammead's citizenship btw Grin

Can you imagine the tickers, Morloth?

23 hours, 11 minutes since my last rape and pillage; cannot wait for the next one! xxx

prettybird · 24/08/2010 14:44

I will freely admit that I am an older mum and not a young mum, so am perhaps not best qualified to comment on the OP.

However I have been on Mumsnet for many years and have never seen nor experienced this concerted bitchiness that seems to be implied in the OP. I have got into the (odd) argument difference of opinion with someone but if I don't like a thread, well, I don't have to read it. Hmm

I have seen LOTS of support for vulnerable people, friendships made, advice given (even to trolls Grin) - and yes, forthright opinions expressed - but no-one is forcing anyone to stay here. :)

I have even started a thread on AIBU and survived! Grin (But the consensus was that I was NBU Wink)

Psammead · 24/08/2010 14:46

Poledra I'm going to go with 'no' for subterfuge purposes. Hang on, is posing as a foreigner treason?

Actually, I did try to join as Lizzy Windsor but apparently I already have an account. God only knows from when!

Meh, MN, NM, live and let live.

Poledra · 24/08/2010 14:52

Heh heh - maybe she's here on Gransnet too.

"Mai DGD is living in sin with a rugby football player. AIBU to not allow her to bring him over to my house for Christmas, and limit the celebrations to the immediate family? I am quaite an old-fashioned person, and find it hard enough to accept my DCs' divorces and subsequent remarriages. This is just too much for me.

And I really cannot trust DH not to say something totally inappropriate - he thinks that, because he's old and foreign, he can say whatever he likes without fear of retribution."

diddl · 24/08/2010 14:52

Just had a look at the blog, & it seems to me that the young girl in question couldn´t find anything useful for her on here, but I don´t think posters were nasty & bitchy to her?

StayingDavidTennantsGirl · 24/08/2010 14:53

Well, Psamemead - she is a mum, so she might be there already....

Tippychoocks · 24/08/2010 14:54

Grin Poledra. I cannot believe Her Majester would be on Netmums. But imagine how sparkly her ticker would be. Crown Jewels sparkly.

cupcakesandbunting · 24/08/2010 14:55

It will be a lonely fanclub with just you and I, Saltyair.

On the bright side, that means less people to eat my big box of Maltesers with me. You're in, hun.

AIBU at its best! Almost worth being back from holidays for Grin

Psammead · 24/08/2010 14:59

That would be excellent!

'I have just seen the most glorious pink and gold Louis Vuitton handbag. Large enough for a whole packet of Corgi treats! However, I do get money from state benefits - but I so love this bag! AIBU to suggest that the tax payer funds my image change?'

mumbar · 24/08/2010 15:01
