to not find it funny

My DH has just come home from working on the moors whilst DS and i were having a bath and has said 'well, it's a bit much, you've had all day to have a bath but you chose the time i come in and want a shower' now i'm upset but he says he was just joking. Maybe having a 4 month old to look after has made me lose my sense of humour? Angry Any way, just want him to say 'sorry, but i was only joking' instead he's gone all grumpy and so have i

just kick him in the nuts

works for me

TwistAndShout · 23/08/2010 18:30

YANBU but think it's not worth sulking all night over, don't waste the evening!

Ilythia · 23/08/2010 18:40

I think the lack of sleep from a 4 month old has affected both of your senses of humour tbh. It wasn't particularly funny but then it wasn't particularly rude.

We had a lot of these ''What do you mean byt that' conversations in the first few months.

JjandtheBeanlovesUnicorns · 23/08/2010 18:43

'We had a lot of these ''What do you mean byt that' conversations in the first few months'

ditto!

when i was especially grumpy at him, i shook all 24 cans of beer up in a new crate, AND re-sealed it.

I agree with Ilythia, DH and I were both prone to overreactions when very tired too.

Ha ha, the only time I ever had these conversations with DH was when DS1 was tiny.

Heracles · 23/08/2010 19:05

It was a JOKE!

Well, I didn't find it funny

No, you wouldn't

What does that mean??

If you can't be bothered to say it out loud then...

Oh that's right, it's my fault you haven't got a sense of humour

I bloody have; you just aren't very funny!

Oh yeah?? Well...

Oh now you've woken Gandalfina with your shouting

I'M... NOT... SHOUTING!!!

DH just said 'If she'd been a man, she'd just have picked up the whole crate and shaken it..'

Hmm

Let it go. It's not worth ruining the evening over. Tell him you're exhausted and need to be looked after.

sleepingsowell · 23/08/2010 19:21

Big cop out, saying he was just joking!
I think I would also have sense of humour loss about that remark because the undertone is completely "I have been working and you have been sitting on your arse drinking tea" and that's a crap attitude and wants stamping on right now!

Has he had sole care of the baby for whole days? If not......time he did!

QueeferSutherland · 23/08/2010 19:27

Could you not bathe together?
Maybe he really needed a big poo.

Sounds like a textbook new-baby type row to me.

rewardgirl · 23/08/2010 19:28

Heracles - loving your work Grin

Sleeping - great suggestion re letting him look after baby for a whole day alone.....

Booboobedoo · 23/08/2010 19:33

It's called competitive tiredness, and is COMPLETELY NORMAL with a small baby.

That's why is funny.

Well, it's funny once your baby reaches three or so.

Ilythia · 23/08/2010 19:36

Oh booboo I love those clips, especially as that's his RL wife and child!

Booboobedoo · 23/08/2010 20:07

Is it really?

Should have recognised her from Celebrity Mister and Missus.

(Shameful viewing habits, I know).

tinky19 · 23/08/2010 23:39

Have read out a choice few of these coments Grin, think it was most definately a new baby 'what do you mean by that?' conversation. QueeferSutherland I asked him if this was the case but he denied it Grin
