I was thinking of this

It is brand new, yes?

So will look like a quite expensive gift for a bargain price?

Am I being an arse?

ladysybil · 23/08/2010 15:14

there is no way she could tell this is sec ond hand, unless she is the seller. i think its lovely.

CerealOffender · 23/08/2010 15:15

still pricey tbh. i doubt the baby will care. v. cute.

loopyloops · 23/08/2010 15:15

That's a lovely present, yanbu.

Still expensive! Very nice gift.

I sent a friend a new baby layette gift set when she had her last baby, was only £1 reduced from £18 in M&S at the end of the clearence sale. Nothing wrong with getting a bargin!

CerealOffender · 23/08/2010 15:23

i found those daisy root shoes abit like pears. you wait and wait for the feet to fit them and then one day their feet are too big

bulby · 23/08/2010 15:24

I ALWAYS buy new babies these daisy roots. They are gorgeous, and the as i refused to put shoes on ds until she walked, the only thing that stay on. I'd be thrilled and how would your friend ever know?

loopyloops · 23/08/2010 15:24

pears?

mmmperuna · 23/08/2010 15:26

Like pears are too hard and then all of a sudden they're all mushy

mmmperuna · 23/08/2010 15:27

Well at least I think thats waht cereal meant loopyloops

BubbaAndBump · 23/08/2010 15:27

pears aren't ripe, you wait and wait and suddenly they're slushy

(I assume that's what cereal means) :)

loopyloops · 23/08/2010 15:27

ooooh, I was thinking pear shoes???

mmmperuna · 23/08/2010 15:28

Oh and OP no YANBU = they are gorgeous

sanielle · 23/08/2010 15:37

They are new, why does it matter where you get them?

EverythingsRosie · 23/08/2010 16:47

Yay Smile

yanbu at all. That's a lovely gift.

notanumber · 23/08/2010 17:02

Only thing I would be careful of is that sometimes ebay stuff can arrive with the box slighly battered from the post... Have had this a couple of times and it makes me a bit loath to them give as a present as it doesn't quite look immaculate IYKWIM?

roses2 · 23/08/2010 19:09

Only thing to worry about is if the box will get damaged in the post..
