... in fact, they know they are (at least a little) unreasonable?

YABU.....lots of people seem quite convinced they are being incredibly reasonable.

MummyBerryJuice · 20/08/2010 21:33

Lynette you are right. I'm completely convinced that I am being entirely reasonable. GrinGrin

I love it when they run away 'you're all sooo mean I hate you!'

BootyMum · 21/08/2010 13:56

I don't get it when people write in AIBU and are canvassing for opinions but then get really upset when other posters don't agree with them. If they are wanting sympathy then perhaps they should post in the relevant section for that... not in AIBU!!!

pagwatch · 21/08/2010 14:04

My personal irritation is people, who know the nature of AIBU, posting there about very serious issues.

I realise this may just be me but AIBU is so knock about and outspoken that subjects like child abuse don't fit in that enviroment to me. especially as so many use AIBU to get a mass reply that you don't get if you post more moderately in a more specific section.

Posting 'AIBU to think some young girls are asking for it' or some such makes me think very poorly of the op.

BeenBeta · 21/08/2010 14:09

Isn't that the point of AIBU?

You post something you know is unreasonable then stand your ground against all comers until a massive fight ensues?

.....or is that not really the point? Blush

Meglet · 21/08/2010 14:13

I only post in AIBU when I know I'm right.

Wanderingsheep · 21/08/2010 14:15

YANBU! They must think that there is a chance they ABU or they wouldn't post, innit? It does make me laugh though when people get all defensive because they've been told they're BU. If you think you're being reasonable then don't ask.

I started a thread asking if I was BU once because I wasn't sure. It turned out generally that I was so I said thank you and apologised to the person who I was BU to. But then I am fab and able to admit when I'm wrong! Wink Grin

Actually, on the other hand, if you know that you're right then it's probably a bit of a confidence boost when hundreds of posters reply, "yes, you are right!"
