I am sick to death of going to the shop, spending 5 or 10 minutes looking at cards and picking one out only to get home and realise that there is no envelope with it

I COULD SCREAM!!!!!!!!!

What fucking use is a card with no envelope. And why do some of the come with envelopes attached and some not.

Please tell me I'm not the only person who gets annoyed by this.

Er... id normally check first? Sorry not very helpful right now, but in future..maybe Grin

BAFE you are not the only one, i couldn't tell you how many times I have done that. some cards eg forever friends come with a plastic cover over the front and I always walk away without the envelope thinking its got an envelope behind it!

Mowiol · 20/08/2010 15:49

Ditto to what you say CoffeeGoneCold - do this regularly myself at the local Tesco. If it's got the plastic I assume there is an envelope with it.
Think I should have learned by now!! Blush

BAFE · 20/08/2010 15:51

Exactly!!!!

I mean, why wrap the card in plastic but not include the envelope.

Oh, how I yearn for the good ole days when I used to wander down to the local newsagents and pick a card which always had an envelope behind it.

if you're always doing it, shouldn't you have learned to check by now? Grin

The sales assistant should really point it out to you when you go to pay though......they should notice that you don't have an envelope when they bag they scan and bag the card etc.

The reason you have to wander around trying to find an envelope to fit is that people steal them. And lots of them. I used to work for a well known card retailer many moons ago and we used to lose dozens of envelopes every day.
