I am U in that the job I was offered is being held for me for 6 whole months because of a monumental fuckup by me.

They have also offered me an alternative job to keep me going until i can have my real job.

BUT...

They were supposed to send me a contract and date for induction last week so I can start on September 1st and they haven't. And I'm now going away for a week with no idea when I will start or when I will next get paid.

And they never answer their phones or appear to grasp the necessity of me having some sort of vague plan for the next month.

I feel yoru frustration, but a little tolerance needed surely. They are keeping your job open for 6 months due to a cock up you made? That's impressive!

In fairness, if they were more efficient and official, and less relaxed and easy going, they may not be nice enough to hold your job for six months.

I know they've been extra nice really. But I have visions of them deciding next tuesday that I should start next thursday and me not being here. And I can't get hold of anyone to tell them.

They won't be there - it's a Friday afernoon in August...

Lovely HR lady has finally called me back after 34 messages left and is 'in the process of sendng me the letter' how long does it take to put something in an envelope? and I have confirmed induction date over the phone. phew.

although why i need another induction is beyond me as i've been working there for 5 years, but never mind - it's sorted..
