Smelt, smelled? Who cares?!

notanumber · 18/08/2010 22:33

Another one here who loves the smell of baby poo.

I don't just not mind it or find it inoffensive, I actively love it.

I may never wean my last DC as I won't be able to bear it when it starts just smelling of shit.

Rindercella · 18/08/2010 22:37

Ahh, cyteen how lovely to see you. Thank you Smile and mine to yours x

I love that smell too - always thought the smell came from the 'sweetness' of the amniotic fluid though.

happygilmore · 19/08/2010 08:49

Don't think the smell is fanjo - it lasted for a few weeks and we did bath her occasionally!

I'd forgotten that bf babies' poo smells better, only bf dd for a short while and was ill and out of it, my memory is a bit hazy.

mmm baby breath was lovely, my lil' boy is now 4 months and as he drools and chews his hands and everything else as well his breath doesn't smell the same Sad
his feet actually sometimes smell like cheese - I do bath him regularly, he's probably going to have really smelly feet like his dad!

mummamango · 19/08/2010 11:14

Definitely like puppies!

izzybiz · 19/08/2010 15:29

My babies definately didn't smell like my puppy!

My pup just smelled like wee!

Shaz10 · 19/08/2010 16:18

I saw a dead rabbit by the side of the road earlier, and wondered if that smelled of new born baby...

seaturtle · 19/08/2010 16:35

I still sniff my 2 year old. I don't remember the smell as much as the feel. I opted for skin to skin as soon as he was born and his skin was so soft and perfect. Don't get the whole baby poo sniffing though.

missmoopy · 19/08/2010 16:45

My dd (5) still smells lovely. The patch next to her ear on her cheek is the best, cosiest smell in the world. Always makes me feel happy.

motherbeyond · 19/08/2010 17:05

i love the smell of ds milky sweet breath mmmmmmmmmm

CakeandRoses · 19/08/2010 21:31

The smell of BF baby poo is nice, I agree. Quite sweet.

DS didn't really eat much in the way of solids until he was about 8 - 9 months so it came as a shock when his nappies contained actual poo!
