To think this is a waste of money

Have namechanged as this will out me straight away.

Our DS has funding from the LEA for a one-to-one at preschool for which he is entitled to 8 hours.

We have been invited to a 'feedback' session to share our thoughts on their service etc. All the parents who recieve Inclusion funding have been invited.

But its being held at Center Parcs. Its a whole day, the feedback session is in the morning and the afternoon they have booked everyone day passes so that the facilities can be used. In the morning the children have various activities that they can do. You are allowed to bring upto 2 adults and 2 children.

Now I can imagine many of the parents will be saying that they would like more 1-2-1, to which the reply will be that there is no money - but this day must be costing a pretty penny, especially as they have booked some places at the spa.

YANBU. What's wrong with a feedback session at the local council offices or something?

scurryfunge · 17/08/2010 16:38

I think it is possible to have a feedback session in a neutral location without spending vast amounts on CenterParcs.

Are Centre Parcs offering the facility for free though as part of their engagement with the commnity?

Shock Shock Shock

Are you serious? Are they really doing this? I'd go to the papers, what an utter waste of money.

Maybe they got a massive discount? or a freebie?

addictedisgettingexcited · 17/08/2010 17:18

i agree maybe its a freebie or massivly discounted. [benifit of the doubt emeotcon]

maybe they have found that they dont get many people out to the feedback sessions, and they need more feedback? [clutching at straws emotocon]

complete waste of money, however they are spending on it.

violethill · 17/08/2010 17:28

Interesting to know what our hard earned money is being spent on.... Total waste of money

moondog · 17/08/2010 17:31

Put in FoI request as to cost.
Or go and ask when yuo are there.

Seems most odd unless CP offering it for nowt which is feasible. Good PR for them.

Heracles · 17/08/2010 17:34

Surely if no one has a clue how much money it's costing it's impossible to claim it's money wasted? CP might be doing it for nowt just to get people in to look about.

alarkaspree · 17/08/2010 17:36

A lot of theme park type places offer free passes to disabled children and their families - I assume most of the children getting one-to-one would have a disability. So there's a reasonable chance that it is a freebie.

If not, then it's a huge waste of money.
