To think that a three year old does NOT need a spray tan?

Am watching Toddlers and Tiaras on Dmax and a woman is forcibly holding her three year old daughter while she has a spray tan as she is apparently too fair skinned.

AIBU to be appalled?

nope - disgusting!

teameric · 13/08/2010 21:29

YAdefinatelyNBU I can't even watch the advert for that bloody programme, it makes my skin crawl.

HeadFairy · 13/08/2010 21:29

Not in any way...

maristella · 13/08/2010 21:33
Shock
deemented · 13/08/2010 21:37

I'm only watching because of that thread on her t'other day.

It's bloody disgraceful, so it is, and says so much more about the mothers then it does the children.

Oh my god

MillyR · 13/08/2010 21:47

Nobody needs a spray tan. I don't see why it is any worse for a toddler than for anyone else.

Giddyup · 13/08/2010 21:48

Well, how pasty was she? I hate to see acres of pale toddler flesh. A bit of a tan makes them look a lot slimmer in a bikini. Using baby oil is a good way to get them brown quick but apparently peeling is bad on such young skin, so maybe a spray tan is the best way to go...

deemented · 13/08/2010 21:48

But as adult we get to decide wether we want ne or not... this poor child didn't have a choice at all..

prozacfairy · 13/08/2010 21:51

MillyR think the issue here is that a child was held down and forced to have a spray tan. Presumably because she didn't really want it.

I'm sure like most over 3 year olds she had much better things to do with her time.

LucyLouLou · 13/08/2010 23:05

What the fucking fuck?! I've heard it all now! YADNBU.

I blame all those bloody awful magazines. All they seem to do is glorify looking like a bimbo. Fucking shallow load of old tripe. Poor little girl - what chance does she have of having a normal life? I'd say it was abuse.

Maisiethemorningsidecat · 13/08/2010 23:12

Giddyup - please tell me that post was typed with your tongue firmly in your cheek...

AllSheepareWhite · 13/08/2010 23:14

OMFG! YADNBU.

PrincessBoo · 13/08/2010 23:21

:D Giddyup

Giddyup · 13/08/2010 23:29

I am sorry, yes YANBU obv, my tongue was so firmly in my cheek I think it may have contorted said cheek forever. I am just so,so bored this evening... Those baby pageants are repulsive and they make my skin crawl

Firawla · 13/08/2010 23:32

they are all crazy on that show. some of them come up there parading new babies on the catwalk/stage/whatever who cant even walk, yet they have dressed them all up in the make up and bikini - gross! not that it is any better for the toddlers or older children really but i did find the babies participating extremely strange

Maisiethemorningsidecat · 14/08/2010 10:26

Yes, agree - utterly repulsive. I do wonder why they are allowed to continue, tbh

maighdlin · 14/08/2010 11:37

wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong!!!

i think in real life i have seen about 2 people who have had a spray tan that looks good. the rest look unnatural or orange, or streaky. there is no such thing as a perfect fake tan there is always a tide mark or darker streak and its horrible.

"PALE" people of the world unite against this travesty!

Hammy02 · 14/08/2010 11:41

Spray tans are for chavs. I thought getting a tan was hugely out of fashion these days? Just chav-tastic..Same as ear piercing for toddlers and parents with their kid's names tatooed on themselves!

lolapoppins · 14/08/2010 11:59

Yuk. An aqauintance of mine is the mother of an extremily orange eight year old dd. Poor girl looks like she's been tangoed - as does her mum.

I think she started having them at five afaik.

Maisiethemorningsidecat · 14/08/2010 14:14

I have discovered a fake tan that just colours my pasty white skin and no more - not orange or streaky, and certainly not chavvy!
