My husband has two girls under 11 and has struggled with contact since he and his ex split. The children want to come and stay but she wont let them. The relationship we have with the children is a fun safe and loving one. Last year we nearly went back to court for overnight stays until her dad was seriously ill and we decided it wasn't fair to go through court and deal with that at the same time. One year on and we asked for an overnight camping trip with the girls cousins in the same county for one night and were again rejected now two days later we are told we wont be seeing them for the next two weeks as her 'ill' father and her will be taking the children abroad. This is a real kick in the teeth. We are happy that the children are going on holiday and know they will have a good time but she wont let them come and stay with us even though she knows they want to because its not what she wants.
