A question on Peter Crouch for Spurs fans

If the things alleged against Peter Crouch are true. Does it bother you Spurs fans?

Or are you only interested in him scoring at White Hart Lane?

I don't care what my doctor does when he goes home for the night; why should my feelings towards a footballer be any different?

My favourite quote from the lady who did the sex after being paid £800: "I don't like Spanish footballers, they treat me like a whore".

amothersplaceisinthewrong · 10/08/2010 18:16

What's he done??

freyski · 10/08/2010 19:20

It would bother me in as much as this kind of thing almost always comes with a dip in form (and lots of stick from away fans at the ground). I am not of the mind that it doesnt matter what footballers do off the pitch. I would never want Lee Bowyer or Marlon King to play for my club. Cheating on your girlfriend/wife is one thing but racist thuggery and/or sexual assault and GBH would bother me.

Gigantaur · 10/08/2010 19:24

I am not a spurs fan, But even if he did play for Arsenal i would see no reasn why it should affect his playing for the club.

If he were a mechanic would he getthe sack for cheating on his wife?

If he worked in a bank would he recieve a fine?

If he were a fireman would he be suspended?

It is his personal life and has no bearing on his ability to do his job.
If he commits a crime then that is another matter. That would involve court appearances and a possible conviction, that would hinder him doing his job.

Heracles · 10/08/2010 23:42

"I am not of the mind that it doesnt matter what footballers do off the pitch. I would never want Lee Bowyer or Marlon King to play for my club."

But then you wouldn't want a racist thug as a doctor/bank manager/health visitor either, would you? Completely different state of affairs...

zerominuszero · 11/08/2010 08:32

Not a spurs fan but assuming all he did was have an affair, I don't really care. I don't expect footballers to be saints!

cluckyduck · 11/08/2010 08:36

I don't really care to be honest, he's paid to do a job, his personal life in no concern of mine.

Come on Spurs for Sunday though!

NorbertDentressangle · 11/08/2010 08:36

Not a football fan at all but just had to say that this thread title made me remember part of my dream last night.....Peter Crouch turned up at my house to buy some of my home-made scones

sanielle · 11/08/2010 08:42

Not a football fall at all.. but was oddly gutted. He seemed lkike one of the odd decent ones didn't he?

Always had a little thing for Crouchy.... Blush

cluckyduck · 11/08/2010 08:45

amothersplaceisinthewrong - he slept with a prostitute in Spain in July.

BaggedandTagged · 11/08/2010 08:53

Tbh, there are so few footballers with a clean sheet in terms of personal behaviour that I dont think you could support any club if you made it a condition of your support. Just look at the England world cup squad for stellar examples of how you DONT want your son to grow up.

Ah well, it'll be the Ashes soon and we can all perve appreciate that nice, well mannered Stuart Broad instead.

cluckyduck · 11/08/2010 09:00

And whats your opionion on it Gabby?

Oblomov · 11/08/2010 09:02

Don't care where he scores off the field. can he on?

dh thinks he's off soon anyway. apparently we have our eyes on bellamy, man city. now he's a bad boy. but he's forceful in mid-field, like scholesy. dh says that this is what redknap wants.

we have a history of goodboys and badboys, lineker. gazza. defoe a shagger. all teams are full of this, to be honest.
agree bowyer is different.

Heracles · 11/08/2010 10:25

Bellamy may be a pain in the arse on the pitch but he [adopts Smashy voice] does a lot of work for charity off it.

www.craigbellamyfoundation.org/

Anyroad, Bellamy's not going to solve the lack of goals issue, I fear. Never mind Crouch scoring off the pitch, we need etc and so on...

cluckyduck · 11/08/2010 10:43

Oh I would never have known that about Bellamy Heracles, thanks for that link, shows him in a bit of a different light!

Oblomov · 11/08/2010 11:21

I didn't think the lack of goals was the main problem.
Scoring 2 against Chelsea and winning ; and scoring 2 against Arsenal and winning. helps.

mayorquimby · 11/08/2010 11:27

Looks at OP.
Realises it's the thread of a deluded/wannabe journalist decides not to post.

Heracles · 11/08/2010 11:43

Ob: there's no player I'd trust to score 15 in a season on the squad right now. Defoe scores in bunches then disappears, Crouch scores spectacular goals but slowly, Pav can only play one way and Keane will score a hatful until it gets cold then will spend the rest of the season being the second ref on the field.

With a midfield consisting of Modric (over the bar!), Wilson (hit the corner-flag!), Thud (over the bar!) and, god forbid, JJ (I'm off to the bar!) it'll take either Gio having a career-altering run of form or a new striker to keep us even apace with Citeh.

Ah, I'm so happy it's football time again. Smile

dawntigga · 11/08/2010 11:49

Wouldn't surprise me if it's true as I know somebody who had sex with him not so long ago. We had words as she asked my opinion, this is not a wise thing to do unless you want the truth. Oh and she had pictures, not something I care to recall but something that I haven't managed to burn from my minds eye yet. I still think he looks like a giraffe in more ways than oneHmm

Not a Spurs fan, but I'd feel as I did when John Terry played away from home :o

Couldn't give a stuff as long as he played well on the pitch.

Cluckyduck

I do accept that it does not bother spurs fans.

But so-called bad publicity could affect a very highly paid players form

So I dont think boss, Hary, will go bananas.

He may just say: "Dont get caught by the tabloids"

I suppose criminality by players would be different. But, surely, when you have served your sentence thats it.

OP posts:
BaggedandTagged · 12/08/2010 03:07

In any case, Harry's probably too busy worrying about his brush with the IR to worry about Peter Pantsdown.

Alouiseg · 12/08/2010 06:15

He's not married, he can do what the he'll he wants with whoever he wants. Abi will be fine Hmm
