Ha Ha got you!

Bet you thought this was about PFB who can do no wrong Grin

Actually it is about BFB - mine. My beautiful, wonderful DD who was my first and terribly, dreadfully precious.

She is gone. Luekemia took her from me.

Its now really easy to register to be a Bone Marrow Donor. You can send for a kit and spit in it and send it back.

www.anthonynolan.org/spit

I dont work for them. I just dont want anyone else to lose their child.

She is on my profile if you want to see just what I lost.

Thank you.

I have sent for my kit. So sorry to hear about your DD, what a beautiful young lady.

winstonstimpson · 09/08/2010 19:46

will do this now. I have a total fear of a GA and just reading the post above made me scared. However, enough people happily submit to a GA to have their boobs done and so I will commit myself to help if the call comes in.

I have 2 girls and can't imagine such a loss. Your daughter was beautiful.

Careful · 09/08/2010 19:52

Right then. Done. Been thinking about signing on the register vaguely for a while but I needed this kick up the arse to actually do it.

So sorry for your loss.

warthog · 09/08/2010 19:58

thanks ProfessorLaytonIsMyLoveSlave.

i'm seriously considering this but the last thing i want to do is put my name on the register, be asked to donate and find myself consequently in a situation where i cannot fulfill my obligations.

it would be helpful to discuss this here, in case others have the same concerns, but perhaps it's too sensitive...

I have registered.

I have been meaning to register for ages and your beautiful daughter was the prompt I needed.

:)

thefirstmrsDeVere · 09/08/2010 20:03

Bloody hell you lot !

I am clutching my beautiful baby boy and having a cry.

But a good cry.

Thank you x

Queen they have more info on cord blood donation on the Nation Blood Service website.

www.blood.co.uk

They are rolling out the service but there are still only a very few centres at the moment Sad

AnyFuleKno · 09/08/2010 20:03

I've done it. Don't know if I'll be eligible as I've had a blood transfusion (which bars you from donating blood, wierdly) but have filled the form in anyway.

RespectTheDoughnut · 09/08/2010 20:06

I registered a few months back, whilst giving blood. It seems stupid that so many people could help so much, but don't, because they simply don't get around to it. Well done for keeping the pressure on. Your beautiful daughter would be so proud.

pigletmania · 09/08/2010 21:01

oh no I am not elebible as i am allergic to latex

melpomene · 09/08/2010 21:07

I registered years ago. Hope that I can donate one day.

shockers · 09/08/2010 21:43

I hadn't thought of asking my son... I will show him this next time he's homeSmile.

I've just looked at your photos... you have beautiful children and your daughter looked like a happy, gorgeous girl.

thefirstmrsDeVere · 09/08/2010 21:48

Thank you shockers. I would like to put a photo of DS2 on there so everyone can see how lovely he is, but cant risk it Sad

Please ask your son, that would be wonderful.

OP posts:
thefirstmrsDeVere · 09/08/2010 21:49

Doh! DS2 is my adopted son so cant put his photo up.

lemonysweet · 09/08/2010 22:03

YanknCock · 09/08/2010 22:25

I've signed up. I was a bit worried about the 'severely overweight' restriction, but I put my height and weight in and it let me continue with the form.

Thanks for calling our attention to this. So sorry for the loss of your daughter, she was beautiful.

thefirstmrsDeVere · 09/08/2010 22:29

Well there you go Yank now you know you are not severely overweight! Grin

OP posts:
thefirstmrsDeVere · 09/08/2010 22:30

I hope that didnt sound rude, it was my attempt at humour Blush

I should have just said THANK YOU VERY VERY MUCH x

OP posts:
diddl · 09/08/2010 22:31

I´m too bloody old.
And 50kg.
And abroad.
Sad

YanknCock · 09/08/2010 22:32

no worries! I recently graduated from 'morbidly obese' to merely 'obese' and I was dead chuffed. Grin

thefirstmrsDeVere · 09/08/2010 22:35

Grin well done yank. I never comment on weight so I am a bit rubbish at knowing what to say!

diddi dont be sad - go forth and bother others. Just passing on a link can nudge people into registering. Smile

OP posts:
diddl · 09/08/2010 22:45

Yes, that´s something I can at least do.

funkychunkymunky · 09/08/2010 22:51

I've ordered a pack. I can't see any reason why I wouldn't be eligible.

Lovely pic of your DD

SpeedyGonzalez · 09/08/2010 22:56

mrsdevere, I am so very sorry about your daughter. She was incredibly beautiful, and I'm sure she brought a great deal of light to your life.

I will register on the site. Thanks for publicising this.
