We got kittens at the same time. I knew it was a bad idea for her to.

8 weeks later her DP hates the cat, she is TTC and is house sitting someone with a big dog.

So guess who has her kitten. Muggins here!

Her cat is not used to noise and other animals so my 2 cats, 2 dogs and 3 kids are stressing it out badly!

Its spent the last 36 hours under the table hissing and has so far clawed me and my DS(5)

I have ads on all over trying to find her a home with no luck.

I told my sis this and her reply??

"Dp and his mate say just put it out and shut the door'

Shock :( :( :(

What twats!!!

Its not going very well but theres no fucking way I would ever, ever abandon an animal Angry

Poor bloody cat :(

Grr I'd put her Dp out and shut the door.

They are defintely Twats.

ShinyAndNew · 08/08/2010 17:19

Your sister sounds lovely Hmm. Dd1 would love a kitten, but we have a dog and another cat so your sisters kitten wouldn't be happy here.

I hate people who have the same mind set as your sister. Poor cat Sad

TotorosOcarina · 08/08/2010 17:19

Its not so much my sister, she loves the cat, its him

But she does what ever he says.

DH is non too fond of my cat most of the time he told me he was going to build an outhouse type thing last night in the yard and get a cats bed for it. My reply - "You'd be a bit cold sleeping outside with just a cat bed wouldn't you?" Grin

MmeLindt · 08/08/2010 17:21

Twats. Quite right.

Hope you find a home for the kitten soon. Where about in the country are you? Maybe a MNetter would like a kitten.

Erm, you should maybe downplay the neurotic-ness of said kitten though.

StuckInTheMiddleWithYou · 08/08/2010 17:21

In the mean time, may I suggest:

RunawayWife · 08/08/2010 17:23

I think you should put your sister out and shut the door

SecurusScriptor · 08/08/2010 17:24

Do you have an animal sanctuary nearby, Cats Protection League?

Is it possible to give the kitten a room or cupboard of its own (all it needs is a place to poo and its food? That way you can get it acustomed to the small space and then gradually increase the space. i.e. to a small room, then the run of the house. Expect the whole process to take a good few weeks.

I can understand people getting a pet without thinking it through, especially if they've not had one before, but to abandon it?

Well done you OP, for treating the wee thing properly.

TotorosOcarina · 08/08/2010 17:24

I haven't got £40 for that thing, sorry.

Mme i have been at my sisters dozens of times with the litten and its been the most snuggly kitty ever, really, but that was a small flat with 1 child and no other pets.

Our house is manic and shes just been dumped here after 8 weeks there, shes just upset :(

OP posts:
TotorosOcarina · 08/08/2010 17:25

Securus I can't keep it, I really can't.

But I don't want to pass her onto a charity, I was talking to a lady from cats protection only last Saturday and she says her place alone had 46 kittens looking for homes :(

I don't want to burden them further!

StuckInTheMiddleWithYou · 08/08/2010 17:26

Cat nip? You can usually get it from a pet shop or supermarket for a couple of quid. Getting them stoned always helps Smile

TotorosOcarina · 08/08/2010 17:27

Lol, we have loads of cat nip.

It all inside the scratching post but shes not been near it.

Shes a stunning cat, I feel really bad for her!

MmeLindt · 08/08/2010 17:27

Poor little thing, she must be scared and disorientated.

UndertheBoredWalk · 08/08/2010 17:28

Oh poor cat :(

Where are you? Maybe someone on here could give it a good home. I would in a flash if you are anywhere near me. I have a quiet and small home, we lost our cat last year and I really want a new one!

TotorosOcarina · 08/08/2010 17:29

I'm in Manchester.

OP posts:
SecurusScriptor · 08/08/2010 17:29

What about trying to return the cat to where your sister got it from?

(I realise you've probably tried this, but just in case you haven't)

UndertheBoredWalk · 08/08/2010 17:31

Oh I replied to your other thread, sorry didn't realise it was you Blush
I hope you find somewhere soon, the poor mog sounds stressed :(

TotorosOcarina · 08/08/2010 17:34

No, it was just some woman who's cat got accidently up the duff,

Not a breeder or anything, just a mum with kids, I really don't think she would be interested in having her back.

pranma · 08/08/2010 18:31

How old is it and what colour is it?Male or female?Litter trained?Vaccinated?

Goodadvice1980 · 08/08/2010 18:53

Poor kitten :-(

Is there anyone nearby to you who could offer a loving home to the poor thing?

Your sister's partner and his friend sound absolutely vile. It is a criminal offence to abandon a pet. What did your sister see in this moron? This is how unwanted kittens come about, people abandoning unneutered animals.

Pet ownership really should be more tightly- controlled to stop people having pets they cannot look after.

I really feel for your situation. Poor kitten.

emptyshell · 08/08/2010 18:57

It may be worth a try posting on a forum called Purrs In Our Hearts (I'm guessing it'll come up with a google) where there's a lot of cat rescue folk who may have more ideas of a way forward. Unfortunately though it's kitten overload time of year and all the rescues are always jam packed (wish I could take them all - I'm a sucker for a moggy with a hard luck story - hence ending up with a nutty amputee).

If nothing else they may be able to provide some more names in terms of smaller local rescues or something.

www.purrsinourhearts.co.uk/index.php/board,6.0.html

Can't do linkymabobs but it's poss worth asking on there (they're all completely cat nutty though - but nice).

mumcanihavearabbit · 08/08/2010 19:15

What colour is it, and where in Manchester are you, my cousin is after a kitten after she saw ours, we have had ours 2 weeks and love him!!

ccpccp · 08/08/2010 21:44

You've got the cat for good I think.

Probably for the best as you sound like an animal person. Sister and partner sound like a pair of selfish wankers. And no - dont defend your sister. She has caused this and is doing nothing to fix the situation.

Kitten will be fine in a few days. Just leave it to hiss and spit and it'll calm down after a while, then it'll just turn up for its dinner.

TotorosOcarina · 09/08/2010 08:27

CCP unfortunatly, like I've said, I can't keep her.

I can't afford another animal and shes not suited to our home, she needs somewhere quiet.

Shes 16 weeks old, black and white, litter trained but no injection.

We are South Manchester.

Call the RSPCA - they have a rehoming service.
