to want to smack OH in the mouth when he yawns?

I should give a bit of background: OH is sweet natured, supportive, gentle and kind but he gets EIGHT CONSECUTIVE HOURS UNINTERRUPTED SLEEP A NIGHT. (I currently consider two consecutive hours sleep a real treat.) THEN, during the day, he has the audacity to yawn. In front of me! I don't mean to come across as an aggressive, unpleasant, angry lunatic, but I have to sit of my hands and count to ten to stop myself from belting him. Aibu? (Or just lost the plot?)

I also feel like nutting my (also lovely, helpful and supportive) mum when she says, "Oh well, it's not forever".

YADNBU Grin

LucyLouLou · 08/08/2010 00:27

YANBU but I think you would be if you carried through on your threat Wink!

Good luck!

How long have you been without good sleep? DS is 16 months & had never even nearly slept through, but I was doomed to not sleep from 33 weeks pregnant. It's the thing I miss most of all about pre-DS.

camdenflick · 08/08/2010 00:28

Excellent, thank you. I shall go downstairs now and give him a series of pre-emptive slaps for all the expected yawns tomorrow.

respectthedoughnut DS2 is 18 wo and we've been doing this madstupid wakey-uppy game since week 14. It's what put me off having no. two (although not enough to actually NOT have no. two)

RespectTheDoughnut · 08/08/2010 00:36

Oh, they're hard at that age. Needy, needy, needy Wink

You already know that This Too Shall Pass. After all, you must've been well-rested enough at some point to conceive DS2 Grin

camdenflick · 08/08/2010 00:37

I've always claimed immaculate conception (can't have my mum knowing I've had sex)

feel for me then .....i had ds1 & 2 both excellent sleepers -I was supermum Hmm I worked for the ss sometimes supporting parents with dc that didnt sleep - all children will sleep what you need is the routine that suits you I breezily told sleep deprived Mums.

Well several years later a very surprising ds3 'arrived'....he slept 3 hours out of 24 for 3 soddin' years Hmm and even now needs very little sleep.

RespectTheDoughnut · 08/08/2010 01:04

nickschick, don't say that! 3 years? THREE YEARS?

Crap.

nickschick · 08/08/2010 01:23

I know ....the GP even said he could go into hospital for 3 nights so I could sleep ......I think it was karma from all the mums i told to 'find a routine to suit'.

Dh to this day tells of the days when hed get up for work at 6 am to find the house all cleaned even the windows - dinner in the oven etc etc ...and a wide awake ds3 ....quite often at about 2 am Id wheel ds3 (who didnt cry or whinge just stayed awake so long as he was with me) to my insomniac neighbour where wed do the take a break crossword.

Maybe he's yawning because he's bored? Use all that extra time you get to stay up thinking of ways to entertain him when he awakes, having missed all that precious time you get to spend with your child.

Hmm
