DD recently did a photo session for a Beautiful Baby competition. The photographer absolutely raved over her (DD was in her element, showing off like a pro !)and she has put one of the shots in her window in a gigantic frame. It's huge.
So I was walking past the shop yesterday and the photographer came out to speak to me. She wanted to know if I would be willing to bring her in for a fake shoot she wants to do for a video that will accompany the pictures of the babies on the paper's website.
AIBU to be smugger than a smug thing ?

Hmm
ChippingIn · 08/08/2010 00:17

How lovely :)

The professional video will be a nice thing for her to have when she's older and if she enjoyed it - where's the hard (seanbonfire)?

You be as smug as you like :)

scottishmummy · 08/08/2010 00:27

smug about what?photogenic baby- we all have one of them.just make sure its not a scam for money.are you going to be one of those parents who drag baby around for castings or content with nice pictures

fairycake123 · 08/08/2010 00:29

I have to say that if I were you, I would be unbelievably smug. Enjoy it!

Fibilou · 08/08/2010 08:49

No, it's not a scam - she's a professional photographer with a studio and has not asked me for any money.
And I'm certainly no pageant mum - just very proud that she asked and well chuffed we'll have a cool little video to show off.

Being smug over your children's looks is not terribly attractive really.

I can understand you feeling pleased and proud though Smile

seanbonfire · 08/08/2010 09:03

Perhaps I was harsh over your choice of words - be proud all you like, smug suggests a feeling that youre better than everyone else when having a good looking child is just an accident of genes. Like traceybath said.

Just enjoy it! You're meant to think your child is beautiful, it's natural ! It's nice if people agree with you.

Personally I do though thing mine is the best Grin

GlendaTheGrizzlyPiggy · 08/08/2010 14:47

YANBU I won a Boots Bonny Baby competition in 1990 and my mum got a years worth of free nappies. She still tells people about it now bless her.

StealthPolarBear · 08/08/2010 16:59

:o
But I still love it when people tell me genuinely how beautiful my DCs are - I don't care if they say it to every mum they see it makes my day!

Fibilou · 08/08/2010 19:55

Thankyou everyone, I didn't really want to revisit this thread because I thought I would have been getting more of the same so thankyou for the support ! There is nothing nicer than people telling you your baby is gorgeous, even if you suspect it's just part of the sales patter !

I have updated my profile with a couple of pics of DD including the one in the photographers window - if anyone is in Eastbourne it's Jane de Weck

StealthPolarBear · 08/08/2010 20:23
