Ok this sounds slightly mad but it really is doing my box in.

My sister in law has bought this budgie a few months ago and she's obsessed with it!

Facebook is full of comments about this foul creature, it even has it's own page and she's even set it up as a person for people to add as a "friend"!! wtf?

She's called it "Fielding" as she likes Yvette Fielding from most haunted and that winds me up too, budgies should be called tweety or things like that not bloody Fielding!

Anyway I know I'm rambling and I do hate budgies generally, the incessant twittering and pooping everywhere but my real beef is that she's taking away all the anticipation & excitement of the baby coming away from me, it's always "Fielding will be 6 months old at Xmas" etc etc, errrr hello? there's a baby or in other words your niece on her way? I know this budgie is her baby substitute and I am sympathetic to that but she reallly is stealing all the shine off this baby and I can't say anything without her going in a colossal huff.

Anyway I probably am being hormonal and unreasonable but just wanted to vent my hatred of this damned bird. Any advice or fellow budgie hatred most appreciated xxx

She's only 'stealing all the shine' of your real baby in her own head though. Surely nobody else is genuinely excited about the budgie being 6mth old at xmas.

She sounds a bit nuts - I think it's a certain sort of person who keeps these cage birds - but to be so besotted by one, I can't relate to it at all.

lol I don't know if you've ever seen carry on at your convenience but she's exactly like hattie jaques and her budgie lol. Everyone humours her over the budige but it gets a bit annoying when everytime I talk about the baby she ignores what i've said and says something about the budgie instead.

You're jealous of a budgie?

Mrspugh · 05/08/2010 23:49

no i'm not jeolous of the budgie i'm peed off that the baby is brushed off in favour the budgie, at the end of the day it's a human being, she's ignoring the fact that she's getting a niece in favour of getting everyone to fawn over the budgie instead.
