Altinkum - I did not know you were dyslexic and you have not told me before (or not that I remember).
I assure you, I do know about whey-dominant and casein-dominant formula types. I also know about non-cow's milk formulas - nothing in your posts is new to me, though I confess I would have to look up the finer points of speciality formulas to check my memory . I would consider myself pretty well-informed about formula.
I am aware that formula brands may have a non-cow's milk based formula, a casein-dominant formula, and a whey dominant formula in their range.
In the UK, babies are not recommended soya formula without medical supervision, and the speciality formulas are almost always prescription.
We were talking about regular formula for babies without allergy or intolerance problems. No mother in the UK is going to switch from SMA (say) to Pepti or Enfamil AR or Neocate...not without being under the care of a medical professional. But she can be reassured that switching from SMA to Aptimil is harmless and not 'lethal' or likely to result in hospitalisation.
There's no real evidence that whey-dominant formulas are 'better' for young babies than casein-dominant, though most HCPs do recommend whey-dominant...a baby switching from whey-dominant to casein-dominant is still not having anything hugely different happening to him. Whey-dominant and casein-dominant are still much closer to each other than either is to breastmilk for example, and both whey-dominant and casein-dominant can be sold as suitable from birth.
