Argh!

I'm so angry with him rite now and generally since our little boy was born cos he just has no clue how to watch him properly but if i ever have a go at him its 'oh shes off again...' and switches off.

Is this just a general 'men' thing??

Thismorning is a prime example, hes been taking over morning duties of late due to me being 7 month pregnant so thismorning he takes DS1 downstairs and then i can hear him saying 'So r u gonna stay downstairs and be a good boy while Daddy has a shower?' now forgive me if im being unreasonable but surely im not the only one here thinking you dont leave a 2.5 yr old downstairs - on his own - while u go upstairs to have a shower??

Whats everyones opinion on this one - Am i being unreasonable to have a go at OH??

So by virtue of being British, you and your OH, neither of whom can be arsed to fit safety gates / locks to protect your own child in your own home, are supposed to have a greater work-ethic than the majority of Canadians? Confused

Oblomov · 06/08/2010 17:00

telling a canadian that its pointless talking to them about being canadian. Hmm

But Op said her Oh was really lazy. so he should fit right in with the canadians, right ?
oh no she said the brits work really hard, that why the canadians liked emplying them.

so is OH lazy or a really hard worker.

i thought you both both in every country.

Morloth · 06/08/2010 17:08

Every employer I have had here has gushed about Australians.

Apparently we are hard workers! Who knew!?

I assumed they were being polite.

ilovemydogandMrObama · 06/08/2010 17:29

But that doesn't make sense, that you are '70% through the process' Hmm. You file the whole application including the medical information and the Canadian government via the High Commission decides. You don't get a conditional offer.

You may be 70% through completing the application?

MiladyDeSummer · 06/08/2010 17:34

Or 70% through reading it?

SkiHorseWonAWean · 06/08/2010 17:37

1333 quid in to it...

Still can't believe you've hired an agency.

But am very impressed you know BC inside out off the back of a 2 week holiday.

MmeLindt · 06/08/2010 17:53

ROFL at SGM

"I AM CANADIAN"

Classic.

knickers0nmyhead · 06/08/2010 17:55

brain dead jobs like factory work? Some people work fucking hard in these 'brain dead' jobs. You really do think you are higher than all else dont you?

You are a fuckwit of the highest order and I am being polite.

eaudevie · 06/08/2010 18:03

Have you ever been to Canada?
SGM - "I am Canadian"

You do know, YM1208, that there are warnings all over the Canadian Embassy website about not needing to pay any money to anyone to go through the process of applying for emigration? No? Maybe you should look again...

I was actually looking forward to finishing work to catch up on this thread! Blush

If it is a wind-up, it's a good one!

This was the funniest thing I had heard all day:

OP:

If 1000 people tell you you're a duck, you'd better check your back for feathers.

(or you could just keep asking untill someone tells you you're not)^

Until I read this:

^YummyMummy1208 Fri 06-Aug-10 16:57:49
Why is it that when i say my opinion it has to be wrong but then someone else comes in with theres and this is assumed correct and therefore i should listen to 'what i am being told'?? crazy.

If you lived there for that long you should well know exactly what im talkin about so stop trying to go against everything i am saying when its true!^

So the OP still thinks she knows better than a Canadian who lived in Canada 30 when the sum of her experience is a brief visit.

Also, really curious that you now say you have stairgates when earlier you were saying you didn't have the money to buy stairgates....(OH doesnt want to spend money on buying stairgates)( i do not have the money to be buying stairgates)(stairgates will cost 15 each and we need 2)

Emigrating??? You are clearly struggling to find £50 to toddler proof your house and are with a partner who doesn't have two pennies to rub together and you can emigrate to Canada - deluded.

I can't wait to see your emigration papers...

A mother that can't get off her arse to put bleach, knives and other hazzards out of her childs reach has NO right to complain about her other half not parenting properly - fact.

pamelat · 06/08/2010 19:20

Mmmmmmmm Blush I have 2.5 year old and 10 week old. Pre baby I would never have left DD downstairs alone, now I do it a lot. Its not ideal but if I need to put baby to bed etc I have to ask DD to sit and play for 10 mins or so. I lock the doors and remove anything obviously dangerous. Its not ideal but I think once you have your second you will relax about it.

YummyMummy1208 · 06/08/2010 19:43

Once you have all looked into the emmigration to canada process then get back to me as you clearly do not know how it works. You send in your papers (detailing background, employment, education etc) then this goes to Canada to pass through an initial stage, its then sent back to london and sits in a queue whereby we wait around 6 months to get a request to take a medical check - then the medical results are added to our file and then we sit in another pile waiting to be finally accepted or rejected.

Its not a case of doing it all in one go as there is little point paying £250 for a medical each if we dont even pass the first stages.

I wish people would read this thread properly, i have said several times I CURRENTLY HAVE 2 STAIRGATES one at the bottom of the stairs and one on DS's bedroom door. the 2 more i said i would need are for the kitchen and the top of the stairs.
and something else i will repeat - the reason we dont have much money rite now is due to the fact we are saving for emmigration.

Not enjoying this thread any more.

juanitad · 06/08/2010 19:53

......is too strange

Tootlesmummy · 06/08/2010 20:01

YM, what you're saying is that your DS's safety is only worth 2 stairgates and not 4!? even though 4 would mean he was safe......
I'm now going to hide this thread as It's getting weirder by the minute.

paisleyleaf · 06/08/2010 20:07

I vote "I AM CANADIAN" for quote of the week
How funny. I did wince when I read "have you ever been to Canada SGM"?
