To let my ds go and make as much noise in the garden as he possibly can?

Every evening since we moved in here I've had to sit and listen to the god awful banging coming from the woman upstairs.

I've asked her 3 times, politely, if she could keep it down as it really is frikkin annoying! And still it continues. They have put wooden floors down which is breeching the terms of the tenency anyway and even words from the Housing Association haven't stopped it.

Well last night it was so bad she woke my 15 month old up 3 times at 8.50pm, 11.30pm and 1am.

I know she was drinking a lot of wine last night and her bedroom window is open.

I'm thinking of sending my ds out with a few pots and pans to play in the garden and hope she wakes up with a god awful headache.

(please note, I'm not actually going to do this, but it makes me better to think about it and have a rant!)

I'd do it...

ChippingIn · 05/08/2010 07:38

I'd do it - without hesitation (well, actually the only hesitation would be if he was going to wake any other neighbours - if not, go for it!!)

xkaylax · 05/08/2010 07:41

I would do it. How irratating

sanielle · 05/08/2010 07:42

I's be tempted..but would it lessen your case for complaining if all your neighbours hated you too?

OrmRenewed · 05/08/2010 07:42

I would.

ninedragons · 05/08/2010 07:52

So would I.

And make bacon sandwiches with the window open to torment her with the smell.

lal123 · 05/08/2010 07:52

I'd be tempted -but would then remember my other neighbours and would change my mind

Ilythia · 05/08/2010 08:05

I would buy him a very bouncy ball and show how you can bounce it off the floor adn hit the ceiling. Again and again and again.

lifeas3plus1 · 05/08/2010 08:25

at ninedragons and Ilythia

The other neighbours are why I'm not actually going to do it.

Although no need now, her own dd just woke up screaming and I heard the woman shout to her boyfriend to "pleeeaaaassseeeee, keep the baby quiet, oh and bring me some pain killers will ya!"

Which is why my plan is so Genius. (unless you have downstairs neighbours as well, in which case it could result in a vicious cycle of banging on floors/ceilings.

Ilythia · 05/08/2010 08:31

Out of curiousity, what is she doing?

sapphireblue · 05/08/2010 08:32

I'd be at the ceiling with a broom handle you won't disturn th eother neighbours that way........

pigletmania · 05/08/2010 08:34

Go for it, she deserves a taste of her own medicine.

lifeas3plus1 · 05/08/2010 08:35

No, we're ground floor so no neighbours below.

No dea what she's doing, I'm guessing she's just extremely heavy footed not made any better by the fact that she totally ignored the rules of the tenancy and put wood floors throughout her flat.

I do think she gets very bored, very easily though, because at least once a week she comes home from work and decides to move furniture around. Cue, wardrobes, tables, chairs, sofa's all being scraped against said wooden floor.

Are you sure they aren't haunted?

lifeas3plus1 · 05/08/2010 08:47

Hmmm, we do live next to a church.

Our flats and the church are only 6 months old though! Lol.

On a more serious note - I would keep on (and on and on and on) at the HA until they make her put carpet down with a thick underlay!!

I also think early morning is when you like to do your house work and those damn spiders making webs on the ceilings, the only way to get them down is with a broom

fedupofnamechanging · 05/08/2010 09:47

Agree that you should keep complaining to the HA until they force her to put carpets down. Only a complete moron would put down wooden flooring in an upstairs flat.
