What goes on in the beauty salon...

... should stay in the beauty salon.

Last year I got married. Got spray tans done for my Bridesmaids and myself as we are fairly grey skinned! One particular BM is very much into her tan, make up etc and rolls up at beauticians for her spray tan in full make up and already self tanned. Beautician refused to do it, and I wouldn't blame her.

Anyway....

A year later my sister is getting hair trial for her own wedding in hairdressers (separate business completely from the beauticians but all in small town so everyone knows everyone IYKWIM). Hairdresser did not recognise her as being my sister and starts to tell her story about bridal party she had last year - "One of the BM's turned up to the beauticians up the road plastered in make up" blah blah.... you get the jist. Now while I understand that this may have caused a bit of a giggle for them, AIBU to think that the beautician was fairly unprofessional telling this story? And worse - telling the hairdresser who it was? Just makes me wonder what other gory details they exchange

YANBU. I have a friend who's a "beauty therapist" Actually met her when she waxed my legs, but she has DCs at same school as mine and we became friends. She sees lots of the mums professionally. I have never heard her talk about anyone's treatments, or pass on any gossip she's learnt in her treatment room.

Most unprofessional.

Is it any worse than you telling us now?

It's not as if she gave any identifying details, just 'I once saw someone do this...'

A bit dim to turn up for a spray tan covered in makeup but didn't they have any baby wipes so she could take it off?

this kind of stuff happens all the time! I'm kind of surprised anyone would be surprised. It's when they give away exactly who they are talking about that imho it is likely to be a problem.
