Why oh why do so many people ignore them, and dont bother stopping.

grr makes me angry.

and yes i understand sometimes its a genuine mistake.

but others look at you, shrug and carry on driving.

It's not just zebra crossings, I'll never forget the stupid cow who nearly drove into ds and I as we crossed at a traffic light that was red. Some people shouldn't be allowed to drive.

Tiredmumno1 · 03/08/2010 19:29

Oh belle that is bloody awful. some people shouldnt have a licence. how on earth did she miss a red light??

I've no idea, all the other drivers managed to stop though. It's a good job I was observant and saw that she wasn't going to stop. Stupid cow.

eek, everybody makes mistakes.

I nearly drove into a bloke recently who was crossing the road because I saw that the lights for the people driving at right angles to me had changed to green and, in a daydream, I started to pull away.

Just a stupid mistake, and I did stop, stall and put my head in my hands so he probably thought 'stupid cow', which is how I felt.

belledechocolatefluffybunny · 03/08/2010 19:44

It doesn't matter, we were half a meter away from being hit by her car. If somone's not with it then they shouldn't be driving. A mistake almost cost our lives, he was 1 years old and in his pram. She didn't stop.

I was halfway across a zebra crossing last summer- traffic both sides had stopped, as we got to the middle a cyclist just whizzed on through narrowly missing ds2. I was livid and shocked. He didn't even slow down to apologise.

BeenBeta · 03/08/2010 19:55

Technicaly, your foot has to be on the crossing if you want people to stop at a zebra.

If you are just stood on the pavement near it, well you could just be stood on the pavement and not meaning anyone to stop.

Cyclists weaving their way through on a zebra or a pelican just annoys me though as do drivers who accelerate towards a pelican just as the lights go orange to sneak through before it goes red.

BeenBeta, I was going to say that

A friend had points against her in her driving test for waiting at a zebra crossing when the person was standing at the side, not actually having their foot on the road.

Tiredmumno1 · 03/08/2010 20:18

but if you drive through a z.crossing if someone hasnt got there foot on it in your driving test you would fail.

like bugger would i put my foot out some silly sod would run over it
