I started this thread and got some great advice here

Now the BBQ (or Bar bee que ) is going to be moved to the Sunday.

Would you bother with the wedding reception or not?

not, have you already told her you cant make it? (sorry i didnt read the whole of the other thread) i wouldnt bother, she doesnt sound like a friend. So unless you really want to go, i wouldnt bother.

GeekOfTheWeek · 03/08/2010 10:23

No i wouldn't bother.

Shes not really a friend by the sounds of it.

DetectivePotato · 03/08/2010 10:23

YABU to go-
You'll go to an evening reception with no recent knowledge of the bride, taking DH with you when he would rather be watching paint dry, spend money on hair clothes drinks and a babysitter, have a dreadful time, drink more than you intended and feel fed up and rotten at the bar-b-q that you do want to go on Sunday.

SandStorm · 03/08/2010 10:34

Don't bother. You really don't have to give her any excuse. "Thank you for the invite. Unfortunately I will not be able to attend." That's all you need to say. On a card. End of.

TrillianAstra · 03/08/2010 10:43

Nah, it didn't sound like you wanted to go.

DetectivePotato · 03/08/2010 18:47

Cool. I thought I was going to be told I should be going.

Silver No chance of that, I'm pregnant so no drinking for me.
