Should I say something?

Don't know if I am being PFB. . .

DD (5) sometimes plays out with two girls who visit their gran down the street. Today it was raining, so DH invited the two girls and their friend in to play (they are about 8)
We gave them drinks and biscuits, and DD suggested they played a board game. I was in the kitchen, and could hear them talking and laughing. It suddenly went quiet and I went in to find DD sitting crying on her own - the girls had said 'This is boring' and just left without saying goodbye to her.
I felt awful for DD, so just said that they probably had to get their tea.

We see their gran every day, should I say something - not nastily - but she would be horrifed if she knew they'd done that. . .

Hmm, don't know. I don't feel like inviting the in next time though!

I would mention it purely because it meant that two 8 year old girls were off somewhere without anybody knowing where. You thought they were in your house, presumably gran thought the same thing. They need to be told that they really can't just wander off. At the very least they ought to have told you or DH they were going.

But I probably wouldn't make a fuss too much about the way they treated your dd (bad as it was) because at the end of the day, children don't think the way we do and with a bit of luck your dd will have forgotten all about it tomorrow.

Thanks Sand, that's a really good point so will do that.
DD got over it very quickly - but you know what's it's like - my heart was breaking for her!

I would also say something about leaving without telling you, as they shouldnt wander off like that

DS' 'friends' quite often wander off after declaring things 'boring' tho- I think its just what 6+ year olds do
