To cancel?

Dd had a b'day party planned for today. Restaurant, cinema then back to ours for a sleepover for 4 friends.

Ds came down with diarrhoea on Thurs. We thought it'd be gone by today. It hasn't. He's having stomach cramps, running to the loo every 10 mins and is generally poorly.

I don't think the sleepover can go ahead - I've told dd. Cue hysteria. AIBU to cancel? AIBU to think of having a glass of wine right now???

How old's your dd?

Is there someone who can look after your son, whilst you go to restaurant and cinema, but sleepover part cancelled?

Being the summer holidays, can the sleepover be arranged for next week?

Ds can't go anywhere as he needs the toilet too often. Postponing it could work, as long as everyone can make the new date.

Why oh why do these things happen at the worst time?

Postponement seems to me to be the way to go. If your guests came down with the bug their parents would be less than happy. Not worth the risk.
