There was a 300 yard queue outside the bookshop 3 hours before she is due for the signing at 5pm today. I can see why she is worth £30m. Jordan really knows how to work our fame culture in England. Is she BIG in other countries?

I'm sure she's big enough and ugly enough to take a few comments about her persona on the net, though, edam. It's probably like water on a duck's back considering some of the print and broadcast press she's had.

In celeb culture it is very much being a talking point/in press, Chat, OK etc is enough to fuel the ego - whether good bad or indifferent. It isn't so very long ago that the only publicist of note was Max Clifford, now there's loads of "managers" getting in on the act. If you can't be a celeb yourself just find a gullible one to attach yourself too

i think it is sad to see women like Jordan/Kerry and yes Jade, turned into role models when they have absolutely no tealent.

I don't understand the worship of this person because I don't get what she actually does. I don't have an innate problem with admiring glamorous people if they actually have some talent and are attractive, but this person just baffles me.

(I've just been watching a clip of Lady Gaga speaking French and playing the piano - now there is a relentless self-publicist who actually has something to publicise...)

I read the first two of her biographies (not sure if they could possibly be autobiographies) whilst babysitting (wouldn't dream of buying them myself).

If you haven't read them, they seem to go like this:

She must have lived some sort of groundhog day existence for much of her life. I hope for her sake her life has changed in later volumes, but certainly not a role model.

Lots of people say that she is an astute businesswoman. I disagree. I believe her management bring her deals to sign. I do not believe for one minute that she looks at forecasts, creates business plans, or reads feasibility studies before getting involved with manufacturing and out sourcing. All these things would make her a good businesswoman.

Signing up to stuff your management brings you because they get a percentage does not make you Alan Sugar. Wearing something outrageous at a book signing does not make you good at marketing.

Michelle Mone- astute businesswoman. The late Anita Roddick- astute businesswoman. Katie Price- damaged attention seeker with inflated sense of self.

I don't like the bashing she gets, I think it verges on being really nasty and I suspect jealousy is at the bottom of a lot of it.

I hate the consistent character assassination she gets particularly the bad mother thing-for what? There is nothing between KP and PA imvho but for some reason(probably due to his vomit inducing,ego stroking show)he gets adoration and she gets consistent vitriol whatever she does.

Is it because she's a woman,shows her body off and is shock of shocks a mother too? She gets her tits out-big deal we're not living in Victorian Britain anymore. It's her body,her life and she's obviously making a good living so she's obviously not stupid. She doesn't shoot up or mistreat her kids. Her kids look very happy and well provided for.

Jamie and Jools Oliver chose to use their kids to sell products eg his first few series,in his cookery books they're splashed all over. Jools Oliver chose to give us all her intimate pregnancy details in a very average book that would never have sold if anybody else had written it. For some reason the Olivers are immune from critisism,I'm guessing because of the wholesome image they like to project.

I don't think KP is dim at all,isn't her brother her manager?She seems to be very head strong and trusts nobody,not the sort of person to blindly sign deals and not have a clue as to how her money is doing.

I respect the way she provides for her kids and has created a business.Ok it's soooo not my bag in (I hate pink,surgery,Barbie and I'm terrified of horses)but she's a single mum making a good living so all power to her.

If you don't like it don't buy the mags (they're all tosh whoever is on the cover),products or watch the shows. It's simple really.

On balance, I wouldn't actually say people on this thread have been nasty, just observant of her behaviour and lifestyle choices in general.

If people who admire her don't like other people telling it as they see it, or passing judgement on the way she lives, especially given the fact that she lives for media attention, they can jog on quite frankly.

I am happy to don my biggest judgey-pants. KP would wither and die if she could no longer be snapped by photographers imho. Her sense of self is utterly dependent on public perception.

its the fact thats shes become the default role model for young women that bothers me. successful she certainly is but as itv2 have learned the hard way theres only room for one gobby, orange blow up doll so all those little girls plastering on the slap and saving for boob jobs are wasting their time on so so many levels.

Todays' gem - can't be seen without a tan top up ! tbh I think you get to a stage of life where you have to calm it down - setting yourself up as an object of lust and having kids doesn't really mix.

Milamae- I can assure you I am not jealous in the slightest. There is honestly not one aspect of her life that I would trade anything for. As for the single mother thing- she is a very wealthy single mother with five nannies and a mother who provides a lot of her childcare, so not exactly strapped and struggling.

Also why is that whenever KP is criticised her admirers have to bring Pter Andre into it and make out he is just as bad? We are only talking about KP on this thread.
