but the language used on this site is just shocking! if you all got such a perfect , selfulfilling life, why are you wasting it by ranting on this forum, even more..wasting time looking through mums forums to show off how negative parent?s life is. This is just pathetic!!!! You show such a strange hatred to mums and whole idea of parenthood, and created new concepts and meanings around this hate. This looks almost like hitlero style site. I cannot comprehend how can you be so spiteful and why to women that choose to have children, although you are yourself children of mothers that are just the same as the ones that you attacking. Moos.....baybee....that is so childish and sick! And i think you all like little never- to ? grow up children, and that?s why having kids scares you so much. This forum could be a perfect source of perfect psychology PhD thesis.....
sick ideology of never milked cows...mooooooooooo!!!!!!!

TheBossofMe sorry i did not mean to offend you. yes, it is offending,a agree. but then it shows that there are people who could hate mothers and children - which i have never thought there are...

I wonder if they just lurk on MN or whether they post? MorningCoffee seems to have an irrational hatred of women doesn't he?

Has MN ever invaded another site?

aurynne · 30/07/2010 10:39

I don't have children, by choice, and I refuse to acknowledge the creatures on that website as anything vaguely related to humans. I don't know the reason, but they are certainly a vile, rude, ill-mannered, sad, pitiful bunch.

I actually participate from time to time in a childfree forum (I won't make publicity of it) where people are civil, and have conversations about a broad number of subjects. Users are reprimanded if they talk about anyone else in derogatory or offensive terms. Opening a forum to celebrate being childfree, and then spending 100% of your time there actually talking about mothers and children - as they seem to do on "CF living forum" - is utterly pointless. I thought the reason to look for more childfree people was actually to avoid the baby talk...

pagwatch · 30/07/2010 10:39

I love my kids, would have had more if I could but I don't feel uncomfortable about people who choose not to have children having a forum.

Their language is fruity but so is ours.
They may have revolting names for children but tbh I find it pretty hard to read how many of our membership refer to older women.

There are plenty of entitled threads on here demonstrating how many parents do think that the whole world revolves around their child including all the 'my child was running around in a cafe and an interfering old hag actually asked him to stop. fucking bitch' type.

I can't get too outraged tbh. some of them are quite funny and some oftheir comments about selfish and over entitled mumsnetters could have had me nodding along.

I do think that trawling on here for material for their website shows a shocking lack of imagination though. But that is what op has done so [shrugs]

daftpunk · 30/07/2010 10:54

aurynne;

You're missing the point...if you start a forum about the joys of being childfree, part of that joy is talking about the awful kids you had to put up with at pizza express, (or wherever) and how greatful you are that you haven't got annoying kids in your life...it's like chatting on a right-wing political forum about left-wingers and how misguided they are....it's called conversation.

whatname · 30/07/2010 10:58

i think those that aren't outraged should maybe look a bit closer.
some of the comments are sick IMO.
I am hiding this thread now, it's too upsetting

PrivetDancer · 30/07/2010 10:59

I can't get too offended by them tbh. I'm sure a lot of the names are just exaggeration for the sake of humour.

I agree with this thread - childfreelivinguk.yuku.com/topic/5556/t/Is-XYZ-safe-if-you-re-pregnant-does-this-annoy-anyone -else.html although I do wonder why these happy to be child-free people are looking on pregnancy forums.

whatnolooroll · 30/07/2010 11:00

Back in the days before I had children I was too busy having a life to spend much time on the internet. Surely these people should be doing more interesting things with their time?

CaptainDarcyCasuabonHenchard · 30/07/2010 11:01

Dear Madame Pag: the voice of reason.

Sammyuni · 30/07/2010 11:05

It's a website for them don't go there then

InMyPrime · 30/07/2010 11:06

Seems to be a very misogynist site, which is odd as most of the posters seem to be women... and self-declared feminists at that. It's interesting that all their hatred is focused on women with children rather than, for example, hipster dads pushing buggies or smug fathers swanning around in SUVs with their 'fetid spawn' in the back etc.

Sounds like they have some hang-ups about being women, some kind of self-hatred or something. But I guess that's what the internet is for, isn't it? The ranting of unhinged loons... so YAB-slightly-U to care as the internet is full of loony sites like this. If you search long enough you'll find a site that spews hatred about any social group. I'm sure there's one somewhere that spews hatred about single, childless women and what a perversion of nature they are or something (probably an off-shoot of the Daily Mail...)

Jasonthunderpants · 30/07/2010 11:07

It makes me wonder how many of these people are jelouse of people with children because they cannot have them for one reason or another and they are turning their jelousey into anger

Jasonthunderpants · 30/07/2010 11:08

I think I might join just to wind them up

PrivetDancer · 30/07/2010 11:11

oh god, no, don't start another board invasion.

pagwatch · 30/07/2010 11:12

Why, thank you captain.

dekoLL · 30/07/2010 11:14

InMyPrime yes there is probably many loony sites but this is the first i came a cross, hope the last one!

Er, newsflash people! Children can be annoying! They're not all little angels! Of course your own are lovely, but the fact is many children can be a pain in the arse. It's not their fault, they're just children. A brat is only a brat because they have rubbish parents. Frankly, allowing your child to scream their head off and run around an art gallery is unacceptable, so is rolling around wrestling your children on the floor in John Lewis. Parents and child-free couples should be more considerate of each other.

Some mothers and fathers eulogise children as semi-sacred beings, which is incredibly irritating to women who don't have children and don't want them. I'm not sure some parents realise how smug they sound, or how upsetting it can be when they criticise others for not having children. Being a mother doesn't make you a saint, being child-free doesn't make you evil, nor does the reverse. It's a lifestyle choice, so can't we just accept that some people don't want the same life as we have, without getting all emotional about it?

wukter · 30/07/2010 11:17

Horrible site, horrible people.
Can't get too offended though. Just another subset of loon.
I'd rather they were all corralled on there, ranting, than roaming the streets with all that unhinged pressure building up.

seeker · 30/07/2010 11:20

"Did anyone listen to Woman's Hour yesterday? It was very interesting to get a balanced view of not having children. Much more so than that website is probably going to be.

some highly intelligent and very self-aware women who made the choice not to have children for various reasons.

A much more reasoned look at the 'other side'

But even there, someone talked about not wanting to be a brood mare. And they all seemed to be saying that animals were so much more fulfilling than children!

OrmRenewed · 30/07/2010 11:20

Good thing they don't have children probably .

foureleven · 30/07/2010 11:21

Its not great but to be honest there are far worse things on the internet. Leave em to it.

Why is someone with children ever on there in the first place.. surely the description of the site would lead you away?

OrmRenewed · 30/07/2010 11:24

Wondering if the ever had a child-free convention, perhaps in a lovely hotel somewhere. And what would happen if we turned up with all our small annoying cunt fungi .....

LadyBlaBlah · 30/07/2010 11:30

It's really weird that they come and lurk here and then go off and write about it.

I have never really considered MN'ers to be a cohesive group. I have never been on a thread that hasn't kicked off in some way.

Perception of it over there is a little twisted.

I now see where Matthew Wright gets his material.

wow, just read one thread on there "someone's DH got his car hit by a 'moo'"

it is absolutely vile. wishing she pulls out infront of a truck and calling her a slag. it's awful. surely there are rules about that sort of thing?
