DS1 has had a problem free (almost) day!!!

And we are all much more relaxed and happy!!!

At bedtime I could see an issue brewing so I just ignored it and am hoping it doesn't spill into the morning.

BUT HE HAS BEEN SO HELPFUL, LOVING AND WELL BEHAVED TODAY!!!!

he did his chores without being asked, had a bath without being asked, ate all his dinner with no problems, didn't cry, scream or shout once!!!!

Aren't these days great when it all seems to go well. yanbu to tell everyone. Sometimes I feel like I have achieved soo much when we have one of those days and I can start to believe that it can improve.

Here's something I learnt recently keep holding onto the thought of that good day when things aren't going so well and you know that good days do happen in amongst the bad ones.

Great.

Do you have any idea why?

Did you do anything differently?

Did you have a different attitude?

...or was it just one of those random things that you just have to enjoy for what it is?

TheLadyEvenstar · 30/07/2010 01:11

Kita, I have my 6yr old nephew here as well today and he also has behavioural probs - strangely enough not when he is with me lol -typical eh? anyway
DS2 was asleep by 7.30
DN by 8.30
and
DS1 by 10.30

I should have been in bed hours ago but am relishing the joys of relaxing lol

Am going to use that idea and keep the happy thought/feeling of today fresh in my mind

Enjoy the moment

TheLadyEvenstar · 30/07/2010 01:14

Chippin

it could be because it was his b'day - although that has made no difference in the past especially when he didn't get what he wanted - like today!!

Nothing was different no thats why I am so suprised lol

If anything I have been grotty for days as i have had a rotten cold.

I think it was one of those random things I am going to relish for just that reason.

Yep - store the geeling for a 'not so good' day! It's nice to know it can happen!!

kitakat · 30/07/2010 01:34

my dd1 has behavioural problems along with one of her cousins and like your nephew and hwn she visits cousin she is usually much better for my sister.

Glad I'm not the only one still up, we're going on holiday 2morrow - I mean today! and Im waiting for washing to finish. Have finally finished other jobs but I'll be the last one up in morning.

I think it does help to remember the good day because most of the time I only remember the bad parts of the day and you then start it all over again the following morning if you cant see past it.

Stay positive

Just read my last post and I'm starting to sound like an advert for all the counselling/help groups I've done over the years - I suppose some of it must be sinking in at last
