I am not an advocater of violence. However.
This Frenchwoman who smothered eight of her babies did so because she didn't want any more children and didn't want to go to the doctors to get contraception.

Quite agree Deemented. However I am dubious if the reason could be as simple as "not wanting to go to the Doctors to get contraception" ? Surely not ?

I think maybe we haven't been given the complete story ? Seems utter madness if it is 100% correct and there isn't anything more to it.

Does anyone else think it is a load of bollox that her husband didn't notice that she was pregnant 8 times? Or wasn't around for any of the labors? 8 times really?

I live in France some of the time and there are some very strange VERY inbred people around I didn't know she was a care worker though YANBU

I honestly cannot believe that the husband didn't notice any of her pregnancies or labours - or her other children for that matter. They must have seen something. Although a little overweight, i wouldn't say she was vastly overweight so it would have been noticeable.

You know what's ironic? BBC said she didn't want to go to the dr because of her size

I think that must be more to it than we have been told. Did she not have morning sickness through 8 pregnancies? No-one noticed her being in labour? Not one person thought she looked pregnant?
Poor babies.

YANBU DP and I saw this last night and were sitting here discussing WHY you would do this? We just don't understand just how you can give birth 8 times and kill the babies. It baffles me. completely mind-boggling!

I honestly don't know... surely though she would have had to be of sound mind to methodicaly smother and hide every baby. How could she do that already having had children? How could she live with knowing that as soon as she gave birth she was going to kill them? She must have known what she was going to do in advance by not telling her husband she was pregnant..

It's just so sad. Those poor poor babies.
