the lid on my kitchen bin doesn't close properly?

pjmama · 28/07/2010 13:31

Very annoying. Buy a new one?

I hate that my kitchen floor isn't level and my fridge door won't stay open - just slowly and annoyingly swings shut on me as I'm trying to put the shopping away.

WitchyWooWoo · 28/07/2010 13:33

is your bin full of rubbish, hence the lit not closing? mine often has that problem

ASecretLemonadeDrinker · 28/07/2010 13:34

collie - new bin
pjmama- door stop

Chil1234 · 28/07/2010 13:34

YABU... Despair is an emotion that shouldn't be wasted on bin lids. Keep it for something important

stepmumtoone · 28/07/2010 13:38

shockers · 28/07/2010 13:48

Wait til your hoover mysteriously stops half way through a long overdue session, leaving one half of the floor pristine and the other covered in bits and fluff... THEN you would dispair.

Colliecross · 28/07/2010 13:49

witchy and stepmum we can have a support group.

queenofthecapitalwasteland · 28/07/2010 14:09

I tend to dispair that I can never find a pen in the house. I don't know how I cope sometimes

mumblechum · 28/07/2010 14:15

COLLIECROSS is it a Brabantia touch bin? If so you can get a free replacement as it has a lifetime guarantee.

I'm on my 4th lid.

stepmumtoone · 28/07/2010 14:18

thumbwitch · 28/07/2010 14:22

love of god...[rolls eyes]

I don't even have a bin - we use a carrier bag on a cupboard door handle.

Porcelain · 28/07/2010 14:57

The door keeps falling off my washing machine

thumbwitch... Luxury. We used to dream of carrier bags on cupboard door 'andle. We had to eat rubbish and be glad of it, an' all!

thumbwitch · 28/07/2010 15:26

You had rubbish to eat, LaVache? You were rich! We had to eat the bag t'rubbish came in after t'rats 'ad et all t'rubbish.

Jasonthunderpants · 28/07/2010 15:28

As the bin been squshed out of shape ever so slightley?

StealthPolarBear · 28/07/2010 15:32

January get a washing up brush with stiff bristles and clean the inside thoroughly (tht the drawer slides into, especially the top).

I have the door-swinging-shut-on-me fridge problem too, think the door is overloaded. I find tutting and sighing in an irritable fashion when DH is close enough to hear the only thing that really helps. Oh and I've trained my 3yo to hold it open for me too

OrmRenewed · 28/07/2010 15:35

I am in despair over my washing machine. It died amidst horrible whining noises (machine not me) and clouds of acrid smoke. We are moving in a few weeks (I hope!) and there is a built-in machine in the new house so no point in getting a new one. Meanwhile DH and the DC will be paying a few visits to the laundrette I think!

StealthPolarBear · 28/07/2010 15:36

look at it as one less thing to move

Glad to hear it's finally happened
